Seeking an early breakfast by the waterfront, we chose “De Dutch” for a pleasant sit-down meal. Having visited several of their other locations, I can confidently say this one was the nicest I've experienced. The restaurant beautifully complements its surroundings and the stunning views it offers. As you approach the entrance, you're immediately captivated by the sights of the water, the mountains, the city skyline, and seaplanes taking off and landing. These picturesque views are accessible from both the patio and the expansive glass windows that line the restaurant. This restaurant boasts a charming location right by the harbor. I really enjoyed sitting on the patio with my dogs securely tied just outside the glass wall. There was plenty of space between the patio wall and the bike path for them to be comfortable. I tried the Pannekoek for the first time and was pleasantly surprised, especially since I'm not a big breakfast fan. It's quite large, so I recommend sharing it. I also ordered a side of bacon, but I found it to be rather ordinary. They do serve beer on the patio, which is wonderful on a hot day! It’s definitely worth a quick visit for a meal or a refreshing break!
We arrived at the restaurant around 1:30 PM on Saturday, February 10th, and were seated promptly. However, after waiting for 10 minutes without being approached by anyone, we asked the hostess for someone to take our order, and she assured us that someone would be with us shortly. Unfortunately, in the following 5 to 7 minutes, no server came to our table. Frustrated, we decided to leave and noticed two staff members at the back chatting loudly, completely oblivious to our departure, including the hostess.
I had a fantastic breakfast at this chain restaurant. They serve pulled pork, bratwurst, and bacon all piled on a pancake—what could be better? The atmosphere was lively, and sitting at a table by the harbor with a view of Stanley Park made for a wonderful experience. It was a pleasant change from the usual Jersey pork roll I typically have for breakfast.
This restaurant boasts an excellent location in Canada Place, offering stunning views of the harbour! The food is fresh, delicious, and served in generous portions. They are also very accommodating for gluten-free needs. The freshly squeezed orange juice was a highlight for me—it really won me over. The staff is incredibly friendly as well. Thank you!
DELICIOUS. Truly, it’s one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. I ordered the salmon eggs Benedict, and it was absolutely exceptional. The service was also fantastic. The only minor issue was that the food seemed a little rushed in preparation, which was noticeable. Nonetheless, it was so delicious that I highly recommend it.
I stopped by for brunch right before catching the Hullo ferry, which conveniently docks right outside this restaurant. The food and service were outstanding. While the prices were a bit on the high side, considering it’s Vancouver and located by the waterfront, the meal was definitely worth it.
