Oh my gosh we loved our fish and chips at De Fischjung! I was a bit hesitant to go to a fish restaurant at first because I haven’t found any great fish places in Germany, but I felt very optimistic once we stepped into De Fischjung. Everything looked fresh and clean and there was a very nice display of ingredients and offering behind the glass counter. Also the restaurant smelled fresh and clean not greasy or fishy so you know they are very conscientious and professional. A happy surprise was the lovely indoor dining room it was lovely! Food itself was great. In terms of quality, no fast food restaurant in the region can compare: lettuce was crisp, tomatoes and cucumbers were fresh and the flatbread was freshly baked. The fish was also very tasty. BUT: Since you can practically watch the preparation live, I didn't like one thing: the colleague who was doing the checkout was preparing the food at the same time, without washing his hands in between. (After all, money passes through many hands without being purified. . Besides, he bit his fingernails. (But the seating area, toilet the visible area of the counter were all very clean .

The service was friendly and the food was delicious and beautifully prepared. The coastal kebab offered a great mix of classic and unexpected flavors, and the fried fish roll impressed with fresh fish and delicious tartar sauce. The only small point: the sauce could be distributed a little more evenly in both dishes. Overall, a great experience – I’d love to come back!
