I regret that this was one of the worst meal we ate in France. the choice was very limited only meat or fish for the main course - with. no choice for starter or dessert. the amuse beech was a piece of tomato tea that looked out and tasted like a limp luke warm piece pizza. We have rediscovered this country hostel for Christmas lunch where we have received a particularly warm welcome! We feel like we're greeted with friends. with a Christmas decor full of originality and refinement. thanks to the greed and her husband, passionate chef for their warm welcome, for this excellent meal served in front of the fireplace. with exceptional dishes and wines of quality! with some local restaurants around beaumont de perigord closed, as the season calms, we have used tripadvisor to find a good restaurant in the environment. the restaurant auberge de peyssou was a wonderful foundation. we were very welcome, and chef Jean-Claude produced some. tasty dips ... a menu with a tasty wet of bark tomato, an excellent and intensively flavored fish soup, waking two possibilities. fry with cowards, and legs tied on salat, and finish a clafoutis. great service, great location and excellent value.
always looking for the best corners to eat, and there we really found something fabulous, a magnificent setting, and a top service the chef and his wife gave us the impression of being home, the great and really nice people, we had the immense chance to stay until late, which allowed us to really exchange with them around a little drink, and we spent a big evening. this is one of the most amazing restaurants in France. this charming family restaurant is something special. it is unique how chef Jean-Claude and his wife grieved to take care of them as if they were guests in the evening. the menu is fixed price (inc wein) and...cooked fresh local products to perfection. this is an experience they don't forget.
a Saturday night spent as guests of friends. we had a four course set menu that a amuse bouche of melon soup with pata negra ham, a escape of poached haddock on a cove, a main course of aiguillettes de canard with vegetables...and sauce, and a pâtisserie style desert followed by coffee. the price of the menu was per person plus drinks.
There were ten of us for dinner and we had asked the owners to prepare a special meal which we chose. It was the best meal of our stay in the Dordogne every course was mouthwatering. We sat outside for snacks, drinks and our...first course. Then moved inside for the rest of the meal. Exquisite!
Delicious, creative menu and delightful hosts in a bucolic setting. We were seated outside with lambs cavorting in the field next to us and the family cat lounging in the flowering vines on the garden wall.
