Important to note: updated menu and prices attached in photos Chips Salsa: only the first serving of each is complimentary, then you have to pay, which I have never experienced at a Mexican Restaurant before. Tacos: tried many, all very tasty and they do not skimp on the meat. Best place we have found in Fullerton/Placentia/Brea thus far. Downside, on the pricey side for tacos. 8/10 Green Chicken Enchiladas: Good portion size for (2) enchiladas with rice and beans. Nice amount of green sauce, they don't drown it but they do not skimp. A friend was over all day helping with building storage cabinets. We both thought fajitas sounded great. Well fortunately the kid got the chicken flautas. The fajitas were the worst ever by far! It was like everything was baked and not grilled. There was so much liquid it could have been a soup. If my friend wasn't in a hurry to get home they definitely would have been brought back. The fajitas had to be made by someone who walked in the restaurant and they needed a cook so they hired this person off the street. I felt really terrible after all the work my friend had done all day. Simply awful. Really worse than that. Gross. Uneatable. The dog was happy though.

This spot is definitely a hole in the wall kind of spot. I would not have seen or even think about going to this restaurant until my boyfriend brought me. The price range is reasonable and the food is exceptional!! You know the food is going to be good when the complimentary chips are FIRE. They gave chips and salsa, but it was the best chips and salsa I've had at any Mexican restaurant before. The chips were fresh and warm, and even by itself it tasted so good. I ordered the flautas and just as I expected, they were delicious. Nothing more is needed to say other than you need to go and try for yourself, now!

I was hesitant to try a Mexican spot in Brea, but the reviews were really good so I decided to try it. As far the food taste, it was decent.I ordered the Carne Asada burrito it was Nothing special. The burrito was mainly rice and lettuce with some meat. I will say the the reviews about their salsa was correct, both green and red salsa were good.

gracious, the mulita was what Devine” the red salsa taste was exactly what I wanted so fresh tasting love it, the dame cooking I would like to thank them, the prices are worth every penny, because the food made and prepared with love thank for the feeding I was really hungry this morning

Very good Mexican food!! They have the best Chili Rellenos and Crunchy Tacos. And if you have a sweet tooth you must get the Hazelnut Chocolate flautas. The service is very good as well. This is a great little Mexican restaurant ?

good Mexican food, but they give them only a small basket of chips and load them $2 per if they want a refill. they work to get an alcohol license, but they don't have any at this time.

Best caldo de albóndigas you will have in the OC. If you are looking for authentic Mexican Food this is the spot. I've never had anything that I didn't like from la puerta.

the food was excellent. the chips salsa. had the soft chicken taco chicken enchilada. the first time it's going to eat here again!
