"This is a very popular place. I am not sure if you can make reservations but it would be helpful. They is a line up to get in that moved fairly quickly. There are plenty of choices on the menu. Take a look at the pastry case to confirm as many of the cakes were new to me. This is not a place to linger and staff actively move to get you on your way and are minimally inviting but this is expected with a line out the door. This resulted in feeling rushed and hectic. The restaurant itself is stunning inside and there is a patio outside as well."

Our frst impression is the grandeur of the bulding, fancy outdoor seatings and the classic feel of the ground floor with century old furniture and fixtures blending in with the colorful cakes and patisseries with some modern touches. We were welcomed by the lovely smell of butter and milk from the Kaiserschmaren. However, the Demel is very crowded and so we had to sit on the second floor which is not something as special as you would expect from the ground floor and the outside seatings.
