We stayed in Hartington for a week during half term and visited The ‘Dev’ on at least four occasions. The staff provided a real warm welcome every time we went in and always made it a great experience. We had Sunday lunch and our group had the turkey and beef which was amazing. We have just had another great meal this evening. We visit a lot of places in UK as a family during the year and The Devonshire is definitely somewhere we would recommend and we hope to return very soon. They also organise a great quiz on a Tuesday night!! I cannot recommend this lovely village pub enough with its great staff and lovely atmosphere. It’s well worth a trip out even if you are not staying in the village....
We went for a ‘end of holiday’ family meal. The staff Nathan and Susan in the bar and restaurant were very friendly and there was a relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. Children’s menu is the ‘typical’ food choice for children, and my daughter enjoyed the chicken nuggets. My son ordered the children’s burger which which didn’t go down as well. But we could not fault the regular adults menu with a variety of meals to choose from. The desserts were exceptional! A lovely evening had by all the family and we will definitely return on our next holiday to the Peaks.
We were staying in the village for a week and chose to eat in the Devonshire arms on a couple of occasions. The food was delicious, hot and arrived promptly. The first time we lunched here, there were various celebrations going on, but we never felt that we were disadvantaged because we were there at the same time, and indeed felt very included. It all felt very friendly and relaxed and service was definitely with a smile. The whole team were very friendly and Suzanne who served us was excellent. I would definitely recommend this as a place to eat and drink.
This was the third time I’ve been here; always good, but last night was amazing. After a long walk in the rain, it was great to be welcomed into the warmth of ‘the Dev’. I’d really recommend the Asian pork belly bites as a starter (on the bar snack menu) they wouldn’t be out of place in a high end restaurant! Followed with Stilton burger and the sticky toffee pudding (both great too) Staff were brilliant (and funny) thanks to Gary and Suzanne for looking after us. We have been to Hartington 4 times in the past year and never been able to get a reservation for this place. Finally this weekend we managed it and it was well worth the wait! We can see why the restaurant/bar is so busy year round. Lovely family atmosphere, friendly staff that could not do enough for you and the food was a rustic sensation. Could not fault the service nor the food at all. Look out for our favourite staff member who mans the bar on all 4 paws!!
My wife and I stumbled on this pub after a morning walk on the Tissington trail. Great find! Beer was very good and food was delicious. We had a mix of starters, bar snacks and sides and all were delicious, kind of Peak District tapas! Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.
We visited this pub for dinner whilst staying at Pilsbury. Absolutely lovely! Great food (we had meals ranging from mac and cheese, lasagne, curry and scampi and all in the party were very happy! Atmosphere was great, just wish we'd bought the dog down as would of stayed longer!
We brought our miniature schnauzer to this restaurant and were warmly welcomed in a very dog-friendly atmosphere. The menu had a wide variety of options to suit everyone's tastes. We would highly recommend it. The staff was welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. Reserva una mesa ahora
Absolute beautiful place. Staff go out their way for every person that walks through the door. Welcoming atmosphere and delicious food. We have been trying to get a reservation here on our last couple of visits and managed to get one today. The wait did not disappoint.
