Unfortunately, our experience was not so overwhelming. we were with several people in the bistro olive. we all decided for a menue. the fishmenue was ordered once and the rest of us had a menue with bark meat. first, some wanted to replace the kressesuppe with the cockroach soup. that was not desired to us, because there was not enough crawling soup, which was strange, what if all 6 people had the fishmenue whacked? Endlich hat es mal mit der Olive geklappt, ein regnerischer Freitag Abend im Februar und wir waren die einzigen Gäste in dem kleinen Lokal mit den vier Tischen, im Von Busch Hof in Freinsheim gelegen. Sehr liebe- und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, die Speisekarte klein, aber alles was dort aufgezählt wurde klang sehr fein. Wir blieben den ganzen Abend über die einzigen Gäste. Wir waren Sonntag Nachmittag durch Zufall da und hatten Glück - es gibt nur drei Tische und es umgibt einen viel Kunst. Erster Eindruck man ist wie im Wohnzimmer - wir fühlten uns sofort wohl. Schöne Karte - wir entschieden uns spontan, da wir nur eine Kleinigkeit essen wollten, für Gänseleber aus dem Perigord mit Brioche, danach Coquilles Saint Jacques auf roter Beete und gebratener Blutwurst und dazu ein Glas Sauvignon Blanc von Rings. To celebrate my Mothers birthday we has a special dinner in mind, and it turned out to be a very special meal indeed. From the start with a beautiful aperitif and starters of a dozen Escargot with a herby/garlicky 'finger licking' butter and a brown shrimp soup to a loin of winter cod and a perfect steak, followed by a lovely cheese and an absolutely perfect rote gruetze this was a meal to dream about for days to come.We had some lovely local wines and a pear williams eau de vie to round up the dinner.If you are anywhere near Freinsheim, it is VERY advisable to make reservations & have the da...
