The best restaurant in Wiesbaden!!! My friend and I will eat here and every week (sometimes even several times). The price-performance ratio is great, you don't have to wait long for the food and everything is fresh and super tasty. The service is also beautiful. You feel like home. Have tried everything except the stew, and I can recommend any dish. If there is room for a waffle after the big portions, it is worth trying. I'm going home soon and I have to say I'm gonna miss the waffle.
I’ve been visiting a friend in Wiesbaden and she (and also most of her friends) told me that I have to try Kumpir at ‘Die Waffel’. Try what? Kumpir! It’s like a baked potatoe with cheese (Gouda), red beans, corn and sour cream and...you can pick a bunch of other delicious toppings like feta cheese, tuna, chicken, carrots and more. You should also try their iced teas or lemonades. Sorry I didn’t take pictures, I was too hungry and it looked too good.
Amazingly delicious kumpir, highly recommend getting, especially for the fair price! Also had the mango lassi that I can recommend as well, especially if getting a spicy combination. Also note that the place across (gegenüber) is an extension of Die Waffel, noticed some tourists trying...to visit Die Waffel after closing hours were skeptical of going to the still-open Gegenüber
This is a pearl. Friendly and helpful staff, great Afghain food and the location is good, just next to the impressive Michelsberg Synagogue Memorial but a bit outside the more crowded streets of the old town. First, the waffles were great. Mine had cherries, our son had honey. They serve Afghan food! This was my First experience with this ethnic food. I had a potato with meet. It was some variation of BBQ. Really good. They make a lemonade with some...ground up black seeds. The waiters spoke very good American style English. This was a good experience.
I have been walking around looking for something warm to eat on this chilly day. Waffel sounded first like a desert place yet look at the menu showered they have my favourite foods: lentils and aubergine. The place is small and cosy, service fast and...the meal delicious (lentil aubergine stew)!
I have visited a friend in meadow baths and they and most of their friends have told me I have to taste kumpir at “The Waffles”. What are you trying???? it's like a full potato with cheese gouda, red beans, maize and sour cream and.
