Service staff in the Dieci restaurant in Rapperswil Rating: 2/5 stars I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Dieci restaurant in Rapperswil during a lunch, at the beginning of August this year to be precise. Unfortunately, the service staff left such a negative impression that I will never go there again. When I entered the restaurant I was greeted by a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. The stylish and clean decor suggested a pleasant meal. The menu offered a decent selection of Italian dishes, so I opted for a pizza while my companion ordered a pasta. Spontaneously queued at Dieci at 4 p.m. and waited for a table, normal waiting time. The restaurant was completely booked and we were warmly welcomed from the start and they tried very hard to find a suitable table for 2 people with dogs. Water was also brought directly for our four-legged friend, which is very much appreciated as a dog owner. Everyone was very friendly and professional, I can't share the other negative reviews. It is a very busy restaurant with a lot of traffic, so as a guest you just have to be patient. Over the past decade, I must have come 30-50 times to this pizzeria, which used to be excellent (even for me as a pizza freak). Not this time, unfortunately: the expensive DOP pizza came with a soft and wet pizza dough, poor quality. And my wife 's penne was severly undercooked, way too hard, simply not edible (not al dente as the waiter tried to explain, but simply undercooked by 1-2 minutes). Even the replacement penne was still too hard, barely edible (and I eat penne more than once every week, so know a thing or two about it). Disappointing, I don 't know what happened to the quality of this once excellent place. Cost savings? Staff resignations? Cleary no recommendation at this point.
We were not allowed inside the first question was “essen?” “Food?” we were not sure, wanted to start with the drinks and then we would see. We didn’t see the menu either so were asked by the waiter that we need to go and find food somewhere else. Maybe because we were tourists he didn’t like this. We went somewhere else, had nice drinks, chat, fun, and some good food. Forcing customers that they need to EAT and if not, they can go and “fxxx yourselves” is sometimes off putting and maybe not good for the business. He still had few tables empty and still he didn’t want us to go and see the menus, sit down, relax and enjoy our trip to Rapperswil.

We are having dinner with 3 other people, the 2 children. We ordered 3 dishes as the little one in the group doesn 't eat a whole pizza and we asked for another plate, the waiter was visibly irritated by this. They brought us the food and an extra plate and asked ironically who the ghost was. Pizza was against payment. He asked ironically what you pay and I said the bill. No tip, he said ironically and angrily! Dear Dieci , They have the best kitchen, but the staff needs a lesson in behavior! You really made us feel guilty! The staff couldn 't speak German, without hair, disrespectful!
Disgraceful service! The waiter came up to us at the end, gave us the bill, then asked ‘how much?’… confused, I told him the amount on the bill. He replied ‘no tip?’ awkward. We said nothing, then he reluctantly entered the number on the terminal. After we paid, he sarcastically and frustratedly spoke Italian then angrily waddled off. Never have I seen such poor service in Switzerland.
...nice location, good food (spaghetti alio olio for 21chf), service was okay but then you get the check with water for the price of one entree? Would not go again...sorry, but thats a value issue.
I'm from Rapperswil-Jona and haven't been going to this dirty shop for years, the waitresses are arrogant and cheeky, as is the restaurant boss. Reserved tables were suddenly never reserved.

We were served by Elizabeta. She was very nice and gave us some wine suggestions. We ate grilled salmon and meat with salads. It was very good. The chocolate mousse was delicious.
