One of my coworkers lives Downriver and suggested I check Discount Drinks for craft beer. I was familiar with them as a kid but hadn't visited in at least 15 years, and certainly not since I began imbibing a few years ago. Talk about a huge place! I was in awe with aisle after aisle of beer. What they lack in single bottle selection they make up for in variety of six packs. There's even a section dedicated to non-alcoholic beers, many of which I've never seen in stores before. All brews are organized by style, and should you need help finding anything, there are plenty of outgoing employees to ask. I was quite impressed with their selection of hard cider. They dedicate an entire aisle to it....
We're not usually in this area, but on our way home from getting some ice cream at Stroh's, Allison suggested we stop in since she's heard good things about the place. The beer selection is huge! Great variety of your typical crafts, plus a bunch of stuff that's harder to come by. Their hard cider and non alcoholic beer sections were surprisingly well stocked too. Liquor select was equally impressive, and spanned a wall and a half. There looked to be a lot of wine options too, but I tend to stick to my Winking Owl from Aldi $2.88). You want drinks? They got em! You want drinks at a fair price? They got em! You want to be able to spend an hour just looking at the whiskey selection? You can! This store is always fun. I love trying new drinks so the variety offered in every category (beer, wine, liquor) is a huge plus. The bonus if they don't have something you're looking for, they'll take your info and try to track it down for you! Either way, they give you a ring to let you know the result. As I browsed, I found the staff to be exceptionally helpful. They made me feel welcomed and were readily available to assist, guiding me to exactly what I needed. I ended up purchasing half-gallon bottles of liquor, several boxes of wine, and even ordered a full keg of beer. I now confidently refer to this place as the ultimate one-stop shop for all your beverage needs.

Until recently, I would have rated this place 4 or 5 stars, depending on the staff. However, they have increased the price of a case of Faygo from $9.99 to $14.99. I get that inflation and costs are rising, and businesses need to turn a profit. But a 50% price increase? That's just outrageous. I can't support that. I'm giving it two stars just because they still have a good selection.
My top choice for all things alcohol-related! They offer the lowest prices, the best selection, and the friendliest staff. The location is fantastic, right on Fort Street North. Whenever I'm in Downriver Detroit, I always ensure I have everything I need, or I make a stop at Discount Drinks. You definitely need to check it out—it's like Toys R Us for adults!
This is the top liquor store in the area! They offer an extensive selection of everything you could imagine, including wine, beer, ciders, hard seltzers, liquor, snacks, and even lottery tickets—if you need it, they likely have it. Plus, their prices are the best you’ll find anywhere. If you're ever in need of alcohol, make sure to visit this store!
The restaurant was very dirty, and the products were expired. I won't be returning again. This was my first and last visit. The place is in dire need of a complete renovation.
