THE best BBQ outside Texas. In fact, among best BBQ I've had anywhere. Brisket was super-tender, ribs smoked to fall-off-the-bone tenderness with a nice rub. Sausage was slightly spicy, juicy, and had a dose of cumin. For sides we had the serrano cheese spinach (can't get collards in Vancouver, but this was a great alternative: spinach-forward but with a nice creaminess and spicy kick) and bbq beans (super-tasty, also with a bit of a kick and kiss of cumin.) Washed it down with their house "pale ale," which looked and tasted to me more like a nut brown, and was smooth and flavourful without overpowering the food. Ate way too much, and still had plenty of leftovers to take home. Super-friendly service, too! Fun decor, drink out of mason jars, blues music on the sound system, and your bill at the end comes rolled up in a used shotgun shell -- cuuuute.

This place is absolutely amazing. The service was out of this world! The waitress Shevonne(sorry about spelling) was awesome. I have never had such great service at any restaurant and the food was amazing. We ordered the lone star platter and the brisket was amazing. I have been to Texas, Tennessee, and a lot of places down south and this was very authentic. The sweet tea and bourbon was great, pecan pie for dessert was the best I've ever had. Seriously you have to go here if you love BBQ or if you want to try something different! Mac and cheese was yummy, the corn bread was fresh. Can't wait to go back. Make sure to get the brisket! It's smoked fresh every day.

Went for Sunday lunch with my daughter having walked by this place for years. (It never seems very crowded which is usually a signal!).I ordered fried chicken which was two small pieces of boneless thigh. It was tasty but crazily over salted. I'd say that at $8 it has to rate as quite pricey as well. My daughter's mac and cheese with pulled pork (pork mixed right in,) was yucky. The pasta was very undercooked: not 'al dente,' just HARD. It was also like eating mouthfuls of salt. There was one waitress on which is OK for this small restaurant, but the single cook looked overwhelmed. Would not recommend, or go back there myself.

Just had one of the best meals in Vancouver. Chef Jeff and staff were friendly and the food was outstanding. If you're feeling hungry and want a great meal this is the place. The brisket, the fried chicken, fabulous.
