This is just a ten minute walk from Bastille, so quite central. It is very small, always very busy, and the food is really good. It is a wonderful alternative to the endless heavy, wheat and cholesterol based food available in Paris. After a few days of eating out, that gets a bit challenging.My committed carnivore companion had the duck, which, I suspect to his surprise, he absolutely loved. I could not have been happier with my noodles and vegetables.The staff are friendly and efficient, all smiles.The only reason I am not giving a five is that, given the layout, you will smell of cooking afterwards, which I don't like.A reservation is advisable, but if you are unlucky, consider a take out...
I went to Do et Riz tonight with 3 friends, including a Vietnamese girl. Her family is in the restaurant business in Vietnam, so she's really critical. That being said, we all really enjoyed the dinner. One of us took the shrimp and rice noodles in coconut cream, which was excellent. There are a lot of veggies and it tastes very fresh. The rest of us had the Bo Bun, and they were kind enough to make a vegetarian version with tofu for one of the girls. The beef was flavourful, soft, juicy, and the nem was very delicate and fragrant. The only minus I would say are the deserts; a little overpriced and nothing special. But everything else: great! I will go back to try more dishes.
We were a group of four looking forward to what we heard was a great Vietnamese in the 12th, without having to go over to the 13th. We ordered some great starters: the mango salad, ravioli, and nems, all great! We followed with two bo buns and two phos. The bo bun was delicious but the pho was not a pho; it was a chicken soup spiked with pepper. There was no perfume that comes from that mix of herbs and spices that goes into making a real pho. Next time I think we'll try some of the other dishes. The dessert - we shared a few tapioca with mango and banana - was delicious! The place is small and cozy so reserve if you know you want to eat there.
We went to the restaurant yesterday and took away 2 dishes : magret de canard and Veau confit. Coming back home, we were really surprised by the size of the magret de canard and the rice they gave us. There was alsmost nothing to eat.The quantity of food do not worth its price!!Moreover, we asked for a bootle of mineral water and they told us to buy it elsewhere

Went for dinner. Highly recommend. Food was fresh, clean and had lots of flavour. Restaurant was small and had a really nice casual/local vide. Staff were friendly. I recommend the salade de mangle, nem, raviolla, tofu vego dish. Bathroom was small but clean and maintained
delicious Vietnamese restaurant. some classics but mostly dishes that you don't eat elsewhere. Vegetables, herbs, freshness and taste! Careful staff. price slightly higher than a basic Asian restaurant, but largely offset by quality. Very nice dishes.
I loved it. A real good restaurant. It changes different kitchen restaurants" which just make an effort to make it look typical to us. It's real, it's good and cheap. Thank you.
Super fresh Vietnamese food. Loved it! Very happy to have found this charming little place in a great area. I just wish I could transport this place back to Toronto.

disastrous management of the wait for a damaging table because the kitchen is good. Perhaps a victim of success but experience not pleasant
