I ordered a cake for my daughters 16th Bday. Not straight forward cake, oh !no! because what she wanted (as her cake) was a compilation of various pics she found on the internet. I sent the pics to Doans...we received a timely response and over the phone went over the pics...our conversation with a very patient and kind cake decorator was a lot of this part from pic A, and like pic B but remove... I can imagine from the decorator 's point of view that we were an annoying customer...still she was courteous and patient...and gave us the confidence that my daughter would get the cake she imagined. A fews weeks later we picked up a perfectly lovely cake and 24 cup cakes...exactly as we imagined/described to the decorator.My daughter was super happy...as a dad, there aren 't many things that make me more happy than making my daughter happy! #doanssoawesome

Doan's Bakery is mostly known for their white chocolate coconut cake that Tom Cruise sends out to the masses every December. Would love to try that one someday! I was looking for a birthday cake and ended up getting the lemon with raspberry swirl.There was only one other customer in there at the time so service was quick and easy. There were a variety of cakes, cupcakes, and treats ready to go but you can also order ahead.The cake was pretty good but not great. It seemed a little dry and we ended up scooping most of the icing off. Make sure to not leave it out for more than an hour ; The cake was a little over $40 and is a great size for about 6-8 people.Overall, the cake looked very pretty (especially with some Harry Potter candles and always happy to support a small local business!

I have read so much about this bakery because of the so called now Tom Cruise Coconut cake. I saw pictures of this white chocolate Coconut Cake, even though pricey, it looks deliscious. Well, I am from So Cal and live here. My absolute favorite cake is a coconut cake. My daughter and I are planning to move to North East Tennessee in the Summer. I am planning to purchase this coconut cake for first ? Christmas there in TN and have shipped and surprise my boyfriend. Can 't wait. I have even put a reminder on my calendar. If it is as good as I am hoping, will plan to order each Christmas in the future too.

My review is based solely on the white chocolate coconut Bundt cake. I really enjoyed the cake... lots of coconut, delicious cream cheese frosting, the cake was moist and the texture on the bottom had a nice texture crunch, but the white chocolate chips were overdone and dry. I would love to come in and try other offerings, such as the cookies and other cakes!

Lovely family run bakery slightly out of the way on the side of a busy road in Woodland Hills but well worth a visit! They had lots of the legendary Tom Cruise cake and my goodness does it live up to the hype. Quite probably the best cake I have ever eaten, yours in a 1 2 person size for $8.
