Doc Ford's Rum Grille St. Pete Pier

Doc Fords never misses! There isn't a bad dish on the menu. My particular fav is the Yucatán peel and eat shrimp. The sauce has a bite to it and you dip your fresh bread in it for a double treat with shrimp and bread. Delicious! Everyone I have dined with have said their meal was fantastic- no matter what they have ordered! We always eat outdoors and the bay setting, palm trees and breeze just make the experience even better! If that wasn't enough, later in the day (maybe around 6pm ish, but better to check. Reservation was for 4pm. We arrived at 315pm and by 330pm we walked inside to let them know about aour reservation and they seat us because they had tables available! We asked for Gluten Free options and they have a menu just for GF and not just few options, they have a NICE menu for GF. Service was GREAT! We were able to order bottle of wine, appetizer and food! We recieved food with plenty of time between appetizer and main entree so we did not have the table full of food like sometimes happens that you receive your main entree few minutes after appetizer was put on the table. Well first of all kudos to Shannon our waitress and Sergio, trainee. She discussed in depth about certain drinks and rum. Because I typically don't drink but wanted to try something “ out of my comfort zone.” She also helped me in my selection of food. I had the evening special. Coconut encrusted scallops and shrimp on a bed of risotto with asparagus tips. It was so exquisite. My husband had seafood paella. Made a bit differently but also fabulous. Drinks were great. Service was excellent And they brought a dessert of our choice to our table as we were celebrating as senior newlyweds. We would definitely revisit Doc Ford's again and again !!!

Beautiful mid afternoon outside on the pier. Birds obnoxious as usual. We had a great time listening to the music and enjoying drinks and seafood. We'll be back. Reserva una mesa ahora

The servers were unprofessional. The food runner brought out our entrees and placed my dish on top of my empty salad plate.
