Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House – Sea Isle City

This was our second visit to Doc's. It was one of the few places we could book for a Saturday night on Sea Island. The service was excellent, and our waitress was quite attentive. We ordered several appetizers for dinner and a large Tito's and club soda. However, the drinks were $9.50 each, which felt a bit excessive for a single drink. The appetizers were all fried and tasty, though they did come across as a bit greasy. I’m not sure we’ll be back again. If you decide to go, I recommend skipping the drinks.

We've dined here multiple times and generally enjoy our meals, but this time I decided to try something different. I ordered the sesame chicken, and it was terrible—way too salty and just not tasty. The salmon is always a winner, the flatbreads are consistently good, and the burgers never disappoint! The drinks were strong, which was great since we had martinis. The live music was a nice touch, but the prices were definitely on the high side. But then again, what restaurant by the waterfront isn't?

The food was delicious, and the cocktails were excellent. However, the service left something to be desired; the staff seemed uninterested and not particularly friendly or helpful. Perhaps it was because it was mid-September and they were tired of the summer crowd? The noise level was quite high, making it difficult for my older companions to enjoy the experience. Despite this, I will return every year due to the overall lack of variety in dining options along the coast.

One of the best dining experiences i’ve ever had. I will recommend Doc Magrogan’s to anybody i possibly can. I loved it! They have earned a loyal customer for life. The braised short rib was the best piece of meat i’ve had in years, and i’m a quality cook in my own right. We also ordered a Lobster Knuckle Sandwich to-go, and ate it the next day. End-of-summer dinner with my husband and our two adult children. Food was wonderful, service was great. I love the upscale beachy charm of this place. We were looking for a special meal for our last night together for a while and we found it. This was a perfect end to a perfect summer in Sea Isle!

The service was good and they were attentive to my son with allergies, but the food was beyond bad. Calamari had more hot pepper pieces than actual calamari and my halibut was awful, over cooked and tasteless. Just a really underwhelming dining experience.

Contrary to some reviews we had a good experience at Doc Macgrogans. Wings and dumplings were very good. I had the short rib dinner which was excellent. My husband had short rib tacos.

Restaurant is called oyster bar. Out of raw clams and only had choice of four oysters. Food was average at best. Wouldn’t go back second time. Reserva una mesa ahora

Watered down Drinks, Steamed Clams that had never opened up, 2 people sick from the Calamari. Very disappointing.
