Docker's Fish & Chip

We were on a day trip to our trailer in Buckhorn and decided to look for fish & chips on our way home to Toronto. We briefly stopped at a few places as we headed from the north end of Peterborough to the south but they were all lined up out the door. FIRST let me state that it WAS Good Friday and we were going for fish & chips at dinner time, so my expectations were already set for a long wait. We arrived and they were lined up inside, but all for take out!. The restaurant was busy, as expected, but we got lucky and got a table right away as it was being cleaned up. This restaurant is prominent on Lansdowne Street and appears to be an authentic English Style Fish & Chips style restaurant. So we gave it a try. Turns out (I'm guessing) that the restaurant was sold by the original owners. The new owners did offer a low cost 1 piece (pollock) white fish. It was ok, however the batter wasn't particularly authentic. So all in all I'd have to say we were disappointed.

Friday night in Peterborough is not known for quick meals. So called in here to take fish and chips home, the place was deserted!Only fish available was halibut, so went with that. 10 minute wait which was fine. Food was average portion, chips were a bit anaemic (very light) but overall good value.

Very unassuming location. Spartan decor and tables. Family run. Pleasant and speedy service. Priced very well. Sharing a 2 piece halibut and chips is really a good sized meal for 2. Crisp batter and fresh fries complement the meal. They also will grill if you aren't into fried.

I have not been to Dockers for a couple of months. It used to be my go to place every Sunday after church. The staff is very friendly and and good at their jobs. The food is vey good and you get good value for your buck. Dawn is my favourite server there.

We have tried to eat here many times but there was no place to park. So after a few years we tried today, parking lot was empty except for one other car.

Quaint little place at the bridge. Fish and chips were excellent. Service was attentive and friendly. price was fair. We will return in the near future.

Amazing fish and chip. They also do home made breakfast every morning from 8am to 2pm. Must try when you're in Peterborough.
