We visited the dog and gun on Thursday 5th jan for a meal at 6pm with 2 familys on a holiday break at woodland lakes lodges. We booked in advanced and was very welcomed by terry and lesley when we arrived. We opened a tab and ordered some drinks. The waiter was so accommodating with our food orders and lesley came up trumps with some gorgeous food. We had a bit of everything of the menu from starters to deserts and all of it was superb. We have kids between ages 1-10 years and soon as the kids had finished the ice cream lesley and terry put on disco lights and some music. We had a right laugh dancing and having fun. We visited the Dog and Gun last night for my daughters 30th birthday meal. What a lovely place. The staff are amazing and very attentive. They gave my daughter a birthday card and added a candle on her chocolate fudge cake and the staff sang Happy birthday. How lovely! The food is traditional pub grub and is delicious. The home made chips are beautiful. We were staying at Landal Woodland Lakes nearby. I would recommend this place to anyone. It's about 20 minute walk. Thank you so much for the lovely hospitality. We will be back
Called in on the off chance to have a meal. They showed us to a lovely table in the conservatory dining area. It was warm and airy, but I think there should be some smaller tables. The hosts are very warm and welcoming, the food was absolutely fab. I had a Chicken Zinger burger, and it was spicy without blowing my head off. Husband had a cheeseburger and he said it was the best burger he had eaten in a very long time. The home-made chips and coleslaw were the tastiest I have eaten in a long time.
Terry and Lesley are very welcoming, the food is very good and good portions. We’ve been here a few times and every time made to feel welcome. We moved to Carlton miniott recently and came into the pub to check it out, terry and Lesley spent time talking to us and made us feel welcome and settled. Good pint, football on, and good food. Have recommended it to my friends to come for the pub quiz night too!

We stayed at Old Low Mill Farm Jeff recommended the Dog Gun. We instantly felt welcomed and “at home”. Sam, Adam and the staff are incredibly friendly made us feel like one of the locals. Food is delicious the home made burgers (build your own) are delicious! My husband had a proper pie our friends that were doing veganuary had so much to choose from! Fantastic menu. We hope to come back soon!

Outstanding service a brilliant focus on customers and food was amazing. It’s my birthday and I got a lovely card and cake!! Every member of staff went out their way to be as accommodating as possible. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed
