We were a large group of 15 celebrating the patriarch’s 80th birthday. Some of the dishes (ravioli starter, duck and pork mains were excellent but the offering for the younger children was poor and we were told we could not order one of the 2kg (yes, 2kg! Monster burgers €35 for the 4 little ones to share. So we had to order 2 each the equivalent of 17+ quarter pounders. Utterly ridiculous. Surly older waitress thought it amusing to talk about us in French to other customers. Wine very average. Really disappointing experience.
I understand that smoking in restaurants is a thing in France and other areas in Europe however whilst the table next to us on the terrace were able to eat their meal smoke free when ours arrived and they had finished they lit cigars!! It was such a shame as friends who had eaten here before had bought us here because the food is great and the terrace is a lovely spot to eat, but allowing people to smoke cigars while others are eating is totally uncivilised.
