Visited this very secluded place on the off-chance just prior to returning car to the airport and flight home, and really glad we did. Shown to table on the terrace. Place was deserted and we were a bit concerned to be the only diners, considerably outnumbered by the staff. However, following a slightly hostile exchange where we asked to see the menus when the waiter only wanted to ask about aperitifs, he thawed considerably and by the end it was all smiles and we had an excellent lunch. A long time ago I thought about having my wedding reception here and I went yesterday with my inlaws: service was appalling, and the waitress must be getting paid by another restaurant (in which case she did a great job for them we were rudely interrupted during each course wine was not served(I'm fine with this, but they were supposed to serve it could've left it near our table! the plates were mostly served on scolding hot plates the place looked a little run down, but recalling the outside many years ago and noting it was dark when we arrived, I expect the outside is still magnificent the one redeeming part of the evening was the fish course (menu gourmand which was absolute perfection......

Traditional French cuisine in an exceptional setting. Highly experienced and talented chef the pigeon is outstanding. Very good wine list and service.
