MY wife and I have gone here most Sundays for years. We like reading the papers with a nice all-day breakfast. Food and coffee always very good, and almost all staff and regular female manager excellent. However a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday an incident occurred which made us decide never to return. I went to order while my wife selected a pair of small tables for us to sit at. The tables were not marked reserved. A male manager we had never seen before approached my wife and asked in a manner she took as patronising: "Are you by yourself, love". She said she was with her husband. He wanted to know where I was (why?) and then said they were busy and needed the tables for new bookings. Wh...
I decided to visit the Dome cafe in sandy bay. I was utterly very disappointment and angry at the poor customer service that was offer during the lunch period. The staff was very unprofessional, ill mannered, and did not offer prompt service to customer. I was kept waiting by the counter and no information was given to me as where my meals will be ready. I was very disappointment and angry at the manager who was called Olive, did not offer me any apology or information as to when my meal will be ready. My meal was a take away and I was told that it would take 10 mins. When I return to collect my meal, no staff approach me to inform me as to where about was my meal. There was no apology as to...
We stumbled on The Dome by accident while looking for a afternoon coffee / tea. What impressed us was the layout and atmosphere. It felt like a club, with a choice seating styles. We chose two comfortable padded chairs with a low table to have our coffee and read the papers. The coffee was good and we spend pleasant afternoon reading and chatting, and decided to have breakfast there the next morning.Breakfast next morning was excellent, the service fast and efficient. They had not difficulty catering with my wife's gluten intolerance. A great place for a business meeting or a coffee of meal with your partner.
Coffee is fantastic here - don't be put off by the franchise name. They have a range of frappicinos which is delicious on a hot day & those not needing to watch the calories! The cafe is spacious & decorated with style. Food is varied (perhaps too franchise-cafe-like menu for my personal taste), but it is popular with all age groups. Service is friendly, welcoming & family friendly (they provide colouring pencils & pictures to colour to keep kids entertained). For me, it's a winner as coffee is consistently excellent.

I have been to Dome several times for breakfast and the latest visit did not disappoint.I especially like the coffee, and enjoyed my choice once again.Breakfast serves were large and nicely presented although rather slow inn arriving at the table.I always get the feeling that there is not a sufficient number of staff to cater for the busy periods. Most people do not have time to dwell on a breakfast meal and expect sharp and efficient service so I would avoid Dome Sandy Bay unless you have at least 45 mins to 1 hour to spare.
Hoy hasta que el almuerzo se detuvo y todo lo que pedimos fue delicioso y, en mi opinión, fue adecuado por estándares pendientes. El papel vegetariano fue uno de los mejores que he comido hasta ahora. Esto definitivamente será una de las cosas que extrañaré cuando salga Hobart. También tiene una hamburguesa vegetariana que se ofreció a probarlo, sin duda volveré cuando regrese a Hobart.
No pude evitar reírme de la otra calificación que se queja de que los panes de cruces calientes eran más caros que en el supermercado. Sí, Darl, pero eso significa un café. Me sorprendió lo bien que era mi café, y todo lo que comimos era delicioso. Un ambiente hermoso, cómodas sillas, una amplia selección de revistas. Definitivamente volveré a mi próxima visita Hobart.
Been to dome several times, its very comfortable and reasonable, with extensive menu. Has booths as well as seats and tables, good for children.
