I tried hard to give this place a chance. Ive gone twice a year apart. The first time was last year around the same time and I figured it was just really sub par because of covid. After todays visit that is clearly not the case. Im going to ignore theservice and the atmosphere as there is none of either. You order strictly from a kiosk. I got the same thing both times. ChickenSoyu ramen spicy. Pressed fake grilled chicken and...cold not quite boiled eggs...in a bland broth with a pinch of corn andsprouts... for $13. Ill pass. I can't express how disappointed I was after spending so much on dinner, only to have my expectations dashed. This was my first visit to any Damoishi, and it will likely be my last. The poke bowls were decent, but they were overwhelmed by an excessive amount of yum yum sauce, which made them hard to enjoy. The boba tea was okay, but nothing special. The wings were quite good, and I'd recommend those. The most disappointing aspect was the service, or rather, the lack of it. You have to order at a kiosk up front, and whenever we tried to ask the cashier a question, she was too preoccupied looking at her phone to help us. This was hands down one of my favorite food experiences EVER! I'm so happy I chose this place. I saw that one is opening in Chesapeake, and I wanted to try it so much that we made the extra bit of driving to try it. My husband and I both got the pokebowls, along with a mango smoothie with amber boba and a miso soup to share. Everything tasted absolutely amazing and left mefeeling extremely happy and satisfied. Thank you so much for all of the wonderful options you have on your menu and forcreating them so beautifully. We definitely will be coming back.
Overall, the food was decent but not outstanding. The tea I ordered didn’t match the pictures at all, though it did taste quite good. I was let down by the ramen noodles, which appeared to be overcooked. The broth was enjoyable, but the chicken was dry. On a positive note, I was impressed with how well everything was packaged. This is the best domoishi in this area of virginia. Ive been to 3 different ones so far. This one has the best quality by a landslide. This is one of my favorite restaurants. The got Ramon, ragoons, spring rolls, and boba. It's great. Their uber didn'tshow all the add-ons on the app but I put in the comments the add-ons I wanted and they were added to my order and i wasimpressed.
I love Domoishi and everything is usually mouth watering delicious, however when I ordered last night our Volcano Roll tasted and felt like it was a day old and it was not fresh at all. This roll was over $9 and we had a $40 order. If Im going to pay $9 for a sushi roll I expect it to at least be fresh, or for the restaurant to take it off the menu :
I have been visiting this restaurant all year since I moved far away from my previous favorite spot. Whether I'm ordering for myself or a group of seven, the staff has always been incredibly friendly and efficient, even during busy times. The food is fantastic, and the portions are generous. I highly recommend it!
