Don Alfonso - Reserva de mesa

I’d probably give Don Alfonso 4 1/2 stars across the board, if you could, for this fairly modern Vilamoura restaurant. Don Alfonso is in the same block as Casa Do Pescador and some other restaurants all just back from the harbour and very well reviewed and popular with customers. Laura had the Octopus to start and the sea bass (pictured) as a main course, and I had the Chorizo to start and the Portuguese Steak (pictured) as a main. We also ordered a bottle of an Algarve white wine. We did also order the bread and olives, in the area these do also tend to come with additional items, From memory here it was with a tuna Mayo. Always worth asking if your not sure. The restaurant had a lovely atm...

I am writing this review based on the food I ordered. I booked in advance and got a confirmation email very quickly. For the time of evening I thought it restaurant was pretty busy (which is a good thing). Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. I just fancied a burger and going by the description of the burger on the menu it sounded just up my street. Presentation looked great, but when I picked it up it was just a soggy mess. My Wife was enjoying her seafood dish but I could not complain to staff because if I had returned the dish we would be eating out of sync to each other. Probably more of a 3.5 review than 4 Started off great but the waitresses rush you into choosing your food and drink. The steak was well undercooked and after I complained I had to then chase up the waiting staff a couple of times to get it changed. The waiter initially tried to tell me it was cooked properly before admitting it was under cooked. We did get a complimentary drink due to this but still unlikely to return due to this.

Melhor refeição das minhas férias! Vou sempre que estou em Vilamoura. Adoro como o restaurante mudou ao longo dos anos, mas ainda tem a mesma sensação. As garçonetes são as mesmas e muito acolhedoras e simpáticas. Adoro os bifes deste restaurante! Mal posso esperar para voltar em agosto. Bem feito todos vocês Reserva una mesa ahora

Excellent looking restaurant with a great Ambience. We both had steaks sirloin fillet) that were perfectly cooked. Only slight negative is it felt slightly rushed. Had starters, mains and a bottle of wine in an hour. Just need to slow it down a bit.

The food is amazing. I ordered Steak Portugees Style and I enjoyed every bite of it. It is although a bit crowded but I guess that was due the final of Rugby. Very nice place.
