Worse customer service experience. We wanted to talk to the manager about making restaurant repairs at our table while we tried to eat. Really loud run looked right from my 100-year-old grandmother. The manager was extremely disrespectful and rude and did not want to hear our concerns. After the fact that we wait 20 min to only take our order. I had to hunt the server to let them know we were ready to order and she rolled her eyes. Very disappointed about the service around the royal kona resort. That was not the only problem we had during our stay. Reception staff is also rude and not helpful. Wouldn't recommend staying here. Go to the kona tiki resort. It is cheaper, the rooms are more bea...

Relaxed, casual food on the water. Food and service was great. Our waitress, Jessica, was wonderful and cared for us. We had Calamari Fritte, Tiger Eye Sushi (Ahi) Tempura Roll and Seafood Corn Chowder with a Mai Tai Taster. The Calamari is thick slices of Calamari Steak and not rings. Easy baked and delicate, we really enjoyed it. The Tempoura sushi roll has a quite small amount of ahi, but the favors were well balanced and it tasted great. The Chowder is thick and cloby and not excessively fishy tasting. We'll get it back. We finished our meal with the Royal Mud Pie. Great and much to share for two people. The location was prefect to observe the beautiful sunset in Kailua-Kona. We recommen...

We try to eat at Don the Beachcomber when we are in the Big Island. The atmosphere can't be beat- sunset, torches, gentle waves. The food has typically been excellent as well. I had the ahi furitake and it was delicious. My husband had the seafood mac and cheese which was also delightful. Service was sub-par. I don't know if our waiter had too many tables or not enough training but almost everything we ordered we had to ask for. We had to ask for drinks each time we wanted one and they were slow coming. The server brought us salads two times and didn't remember he had just cleared our salad plates. He was pleasant enough but everything seemed jumbled and disorganized. It isn't a deal breaker...

Wow, what a great place to have dinner with my wife! This is the closest you can be to the beach without getting wet. The food was good, not great, but the location is worth the trip. Our server, Jake, left room for improvement. He either needs to take notes or get a better memory. We ordered a wedge salad which he forgot entirely and I ordered the medium size of the Prime Rib and he brought the small one. Too bad because it was really good. Not a deal breaker but noticeable mistakes. A beautiful night to be on the Coast of Kona. Reserva una mesa ahora

Have been coming to kailua-Kona for over a decade and have learned from past experiences which establishments remain a standard for quality of food and service. Don the Beachcomber and Don 's Mai Tai Bar have NEVER disappointed us; servers and bar tenders are engaging, friendly and comitted to providing professional service to patrons at a very reasonable price! The view and ambience is also second to none!!

The staff is very unprofessional. Two days in a row, they made repairs at the restaurant at our table. 1st day they did tile repairs right behind my chair. Day 2 they did trim repairs on the bar running saws, nail pistols and had all their tools in the restaurant. I complained to the manager and he told me I wasn't very smart. I asked why they didn't make the repairs in a few hours.

We had Valentines Day dinner. Our table was outside under the overhang. There was extremely high surf which was a spectacular backdrop for a delicious wedge salad, prime rib and kona coffee ice cream dinner. Attentive, friendly service at a very fair price. Everything, including the red zin by the glass was perfect. This was a six star meal! (And were pretty fussy foodies!!

The setting for this place is amazing. We enjoyed the sunset there and the crashing waves below us. The mood was pretty mediocre and I would not recommend this place for the food. Cocktails were nice and yes they do have a happy hour. Thursday nights they have live music too Reserva una mesa ahora

Worst Fish and Chips ever. We live on Big Island and have been going to Don the Beach Comber for a few years. No complaints yet. Service well, see good food terrible.
