Having travelled throughout Mexico I am always a little sceptical about Mexican restaurants closer to home. They always have to make compromises in terms of the ingredients that are available in Canada versus the fresh, authentic, traditional recipe items down there. This restaurant was surprisingly good. At first I was taken aback by the tortilla soup I had as a starter as I just saw a broth with tortilla strips and none of the avocado pieces, shredded chicken, sour cream or pasilla chiles that are often included. We have eaten here 3 times and every time it was excellent. This is a small casual restaurant with about 10 tables and Mexican themed decor and food. We received a complimentary basket of corn tortilla chips and homemade salsa. It was a small amount but enough to whet the appetite without being too filling. We have tried the tacos, burritos and enchiladas. Some items come with rice and beans as sides. All were freshly made and authentic. My friend and I decided to try Dos Mariachis for dinner. We arrived around 5 pm. The restaurant was empty. The fish tacos had an eyelash in it. When we advised our server, he came back to say it wasn't a hair but a piece of the hair net. Which is just as gross if you ask me. The cook came out and apologized for the hair and offered us a discount. The bill came, I looked at my friend and said there is no discount. She said yes $2.25. LOL We were appalled to the least. In the 5 mins. He dropped the bill, he returned to our table 3x trying to pick up money. We hadn't even finished our meals. During our meal he "sat" on top of the freezer watching us eat. Ughhhhh.. Wouldn't go back.

Dropped in this restaurant with friends after catching one of our grandsons hockey games. The place small with only perhaps 10 tables, but was clean and bright. Service was fine perhaps a little slow but since we were not in a hurry it was fine. The waitress was very friendly. Food arrived nicely plated and all agree it was very good. I gave Dos Mariachis another try because some friends recommended it. The first time is the first week they opened and I was not impressed. This time was completely different. The food was tasty, served quickly and the server was excellent. I’ll be back.

Mexico is my home-away-from-home. The food here is authentic, fresh and delicious, I've been enjoying their food since they were at the Aurora's Farmer's Market

Authentic food and excellent service. We have a Type 1 Diabetic child and chef/owner always comes out to check that our requests for her have been met.

Small and simple decor but excellent, fairly authentic food. Try their Chimichangas and their Cactus Salad. Very friendly service. Family-run. Reserva una mesa ahora
