Having travelled throughout Mexico I am always a little sceptical about Mexican restaurants closer to home. They always have to make compromises in terms of the ingredients that are available in Canada versus the fresh, authentic, traditional recipe items down there. This restaurant was surprisingly good. At first I was taken aback by the tortilla soup I had as a starter as I just saw a broth with tortilla strips and none of the avocado pieces, shredded chicken, sour cream or pasilla chiles that are often included. We have eaten here 3 times and every time it was excellent. This is a small casual restaurant with about 10 tables and Mexican themed decor and food. We received a complimentary basket of corn tortilla chips and homemade salsa. It was a small amount but enough to whet the appetite without being too filling. We have tried the tacos, burritos and enchiladas. Some items come with rice and beans as sides. All were freshly made and authentic. (There is a lot less cheese used here then you would find at Taco Bell!)The service was fast and the owner was very attentive. Prices are good. Authentic food and excellent service. We have a Type 1 Diabetic child and chef/owner always comes out to check that our requests for her have been met.

Small and simple decor but excellent, fairly authentic food. Try their Chimichangas and their Cactus Salad. Very friendly service. Family-run.
