I am updating my review as the restaurant requested more details. I am giving this chain restaurant 2 stars because I believe it is fair to rate chain restaurants one star. I was very disappointed with my experience. We used to frequent this establishment when it was Max's Diner, and also visited about 3-4 years ago when my children were younger. The food was extremely greasy and lacked flavor, aside from the taste of burnt oil. My eldest daughter ordered the bacon dippers, but the bacon was so greasy that the pancake batter wouldn't cling to it, causing her to leave her meal unfinished. My younger daughter ordered the twisted melt, and there was a pool of oil surrounding the chicken tenders...

There were a few clearly labeled options on the menu, including a delicious skillet dish (consisting of a burger with peppers, mushrooms, onions, and spinach) and a scrambled egg dish with peppers and tomatoes. We decided to order both dishes and mix them together, resulting in a very tasty meal. However, when trying to customize our meals with certain sides, we were informed that everything was cooked in butter, so be mindful of that if you have specific dietary restrictions.

This restaurant has inconsistent quality. I revisit this review regularly to provide updated feedback. There are times when the food is really delicious, but other times it can be just average. During my last visit, I tried the avocado toast with eggs only. The unsweetened iced tea is always delicious. Review last updated on May 17, 2023.

This restaurant is really fantastic. It was very busy on a Sunday morning and had a great local atmosphere. We were able to avoid waiting by sitting at the high-top bar.

The service was excellent and the food was amazing with very generous portions. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this restaurant to my friends!
