Neighbourhood Italian. I'm so glad we stumbled over this hidden neighborhood place last night. It doesn't look like much from the outside and sits in the heart of the newly built Maverick Square T stop. But step inward and you are warmly welcomed by a really friendly staff, led to a table of one of the two dining rooms. We ordered two excellent martinis from their full and inexpensive bar, and got a starter of fried Calamari with a sharp red sauce for diving, large part and easy to share. Another favorite star is the caprese salad, slightly big enough to share for two, the presentation is beautiful and the tart basalmic dressing is addictive. Our meals of the calf picatta and the calf parmigiana were both authentic and super and incredibly reasonable at $14 apiece, much considering Bostons in general high prices. The same applies to their wines, the $5 by the glass or about $15 20 for a bottle. I would recommend the light and fruity Sangria, one of the best I had in Boston. Following visits were consistently excellent, their dishes usually being seafood. The swordfish puttanesca is generously cut and very fresh, like the Risotto di mare, overloaded with baby clams, Calamari, mussels and shrimps.
