After walking down the esplanade, my boyfriend and I decided to have breakfast at Drift Bar. We ordered the Eggs Benedict, Smashed Avo and two coffees. The meals were good but not great. The size of the Smashed Avo was laughable. It cost $14 for one piece of toast, a heap of avocado (purée) and a sad looking lime wedge. It makes you wonder what it is you're actually paying for considering there's absolutely no technical skill involved. Also, they sat the toast on some sort of glaze, which made it soggy. Wouldn't that be obvious? My boyfriend enjoyed his Eggs Benedict but he thought it was very small for $18.We both really enjoyed the coffees.
Used to love coming to this bar for their special menu nights!Tonight our over priced burger did not deliver. When cut in half, there was no buttermilk slaw, or any rocket or tomato, just soggy flavourless onions, probably frozen. The chilli jam did not exist anywhere on the burger. When asked I was given a bowl of chilli sauce, not even the chilli jam accompaniment as listed on the menu.The Korean chicken was wonderful, but a $3 multinational burger has more flavour than the $22 rib fillet tonight! The menu description should reflect the ingredients and this was a fail!
I have been in Caloundra for three weeks and have been buying a particular wine by the glass. Yesterday I was told they only sell that wine by the bottle ( even though the wine list states $7 glass/$35 bottle!!!!When I challenged the Manager I was again rudely told "we don't sell it by the glass".After I pointed out the wine list he agreed to selling me a glass.I was upset by this interaction as I have visited the Drift last year when on holiday and never had an issue. This mans reply to me "defies logic" as the wine list stated $7 glass.
While we were out near the beach I decided to go and have a beer.So I went to the drift bar on a Wednesday there was 2 people in there plus me.I had to go to the men's room and instantly felt like I was punched in the face with the disgusting state ofThe TOILETS the smell and the condition the them. It was lunchtime not 1.00 o'clock in the morning. In par with toilets at a park

Had a nice lunch with a great view of the blue water and sky, glasshouse mountains etc. Staff were very friendly and service good. I had a great chicken pesto salad and a beer. Friends has pasta, fish n chips and such. Everyone was satisfied.
This place used to be great for food and service. Now, something's changed. I had the curry - it was cold and bland. Wine choices were poor. Had to wait a long time just for garlic bread at lunchtime. Lacking its usual zing!!!
Not a fan of the new menu. Food is ok, nothing spectacular. Booth seats are very grubby as it has more of a bar scene from the afternoon onwards. Would go again but wouldn't be my first choice.
Good happy hour, good vibe, even though really packed it was easy enough to get served at the bar. Great view, recommend booking if you want to sit outdoors to enjoy it!

Worst experience while having a family dinner. What disrespect displayed by the owner of Drift. What an embarrassment and poor behaviour by management.
Roomy venue and easy to mingle with other guests at a special occasion - children welcome. Food excellent for a large group
