Knutange is a place with the atmosphere of a drama or thriller movie set that begins with the arrival of a stranger in the city. The hotel is also an old building in this city, but it is quite old. Cheap and 40 min to Luxembourg. Remotel is a preferred low priced hotel as it is 1.5 hours away from Strasbourg. There is also a restaurant belonging to the business, but we could not use it because we left early and returned late. The furnishings and fixtures in the rooms are as old as the hotel, and of course there is no refrigerator. Breakfast is standard. Having read some of the other views we were very worried about this place, but, since every other joint in town was closed, we went ahead anyway. All I can say is that it was much better than expected. An excellent wine list, parts of it very grand, and good choices on the menu. Service was attentive, if not effusive. For this place to have a lower rating than the pizza joints etc, is frankly ludicrous. Ok the interior is tired, but the terrace was fine on a summer's evening, and most importantly the food and wine were good. I would not make a detour, but if you are in Knutange, for whatever reason, than don't be frightened. The set menu was good value for money for this level of cooking
really a good time in this restaurant that had the intelligence of proposing a small map with therefore necessarily fresh products in this difficult context. decor and atmosphere are like the motto of the house, we feel like a family! gambas were fresh and accompanied by a good bearnese sauce; the lamb was cooked as I love it and then a big kick for dessert! a real pleasure that this sorbet with spices of light and creamy noel, small memory of the Christmas fairies still close in our memories. with an efficient and discreet service as well as a good price of value this restaurant remains a safe value to return benevolent with valentine s approach!
