We went there on a beautiful November day after spending a couple of hours visiting the nice village of Erlach . The location of the restaurant is nice being close to the lake and it is easily accessible . The decor inside is sober and in fact a bit dry which does not contribute to a romantic setting . Fish is the specialty and again there is nothing sophisticated in its presentation . Service is fast and professional but not very warm . Prices are average to what we have seen elsewhere in Switzerland . One goes there for the location !
It has a good location close to the Erlach lake recreation area and the path leading to St. Peter's Island (peninsula - it used to be an island before the lake levels dropped). On a nice sunny day, it's a good place to grab a beer and snack on the terrace, but for meals it's just ok. It's able to handle large groups, so that could be a consideration, but for family sized groups there are better choices within a 5 minute walk. I live close by and have been there on numerous occasions, but it is never my choice.
The location is handy for the boats, the path to St Peter's island and is only a short walk from the village. The terrace is spacious with a big canopy. Service was very friendly, and the food arrived promptly. The meal was good, the price reasonable. A good option if you prefer to be served at table, rather than standing in a queue at a couple of the self-service restaurants nearby. It is neither romantic nor prestigious, for that you need to look elsewhere.
Crispy fish with steamed potatoes and tartare sauce. Even if the food, the service and the location were absolutely OK, the price was still on the upper limit. The fact that I get Lake Biel fish on Lake Biel these places can now be counted on one hand, but the price in these restaurants is also significantly higher, which is worth considering the 100% guarantee that the fish comes from Lake Biel and not from Prodega Biel comes from, worth it. When my daughter asked the waiter to kindly put his mask on as he leant over the table he replied it is not necessary on the terrace. If you don't like it you should have stayed at home . We were dumbstruck. The fried fish was ok but rather too much batter. When we asked for tomato ketchup he brought us a single envelope, hardly appropriate for a Restaurant! There was no Covid tracing.
