Good food, poor service. Servers are often sitting down, on their cell phones or speaking with one another. I usually tipped 20% even though the service was below expectations. There was one waitress who was helpful, but one server was especially terrible. In 2021. Dumpling Cafe implemented a mandatory gratuity of either 18% or 20%, and the service declined even further. I inadvertently found out about the mandatory tip when I asked for a receipt and the server told me that I'm all set. Late night Taiwanese restaurant with plentiful dumpling options. Came here with family on a Saturday evening for an early dinner around 6pm and got seated immediately. Indoor dining only, no outdoor option. Takeout is also available. Masks required. They do serve alcohol (there?s Tsingtao). Credit cards are accepted. We got four dishes for the four of us, and that was a good amount of food. My mom particularly loved the pork fried rice, and since she is a fried rice fiend, that?s high praise coming from her. I went to eat with some friends because the place has a good references. The food is good, not fabtastic, but good; and the service is fast. The bad thing is the attention. From the one who receives you and the waitresses, they seem to hate the client, they make the experience horrible! They speak English very badly, and if you ask them to repeat themselves they do so reluctantly. You ask them to explain the dishes to you (I'm Bolivian, I don't know anything about their culture) and it seems that you offend them. You haven't finished eating and they put the bill in the middle. I wouldn't go back to a place where you can see they hate their job.
Food was good but, service was absolutely terrible. Waitress threw the food on our table and was overall rude. When she gave us the sauces, she basically dipped the dishes into each other which made me uncomfortable and should've been the first red flag. Planned on giving a low tip then coming to find out 18% gratuity was included. Makes sense as to why they don't care about their customers as they're still getting paid. Soup dumplings were pretty good though and had a nice flavor, however, the experience is stopping me from returning.

We got the crispy chicken strips Taiwan style, the black pepper beef, and (of course) two orders of soup dumplings.We’ve been exploring different soup dumplings in Boston and so far, these are our favorite! The soup is very savory and delicious and all the dumplings are consistent.The black pepper beef was also delicious and you can definitely taste the black pepper compared to other chinese places. The crispy chicken strips were also really good and tender.Would definitely come again and maybe make this our regular spot!
Don?t know why people are complaining about the service, this isn?t a regular restaurant where a waiter or waitress constantly comes back to your table after you order? Anyway I love Chinatown spots like this. Local and prices aren?t too crazy. The dumplings were awesome and I really loved the duck buns. Noodles were great and I mean nothing fancy about this spot but I loved it
I’ve never been dissatisfied with the food here. I love the pork soup dumplings! (I get them every time). For some reason they seem averted to refilling my water like every time I go.
