We went there at a party arranged for about sixty people by a friend. The food choice was not ours nor did we know the price of the different items served to us. But the food was plentiful. It is a Lebanese restaurant and serves Middle eastern food like different types of kebabs, tabouleh, dips - baba ganoush, haomos and tahini, falafel, salad, lebanese bread - both normal and fried to crackle etc. There were many items served as entre, followed by a couple of main dishes comprising sea food, chicken and beef - each served on top of rice. Finally came the desert - again the standard middle eastern sweets - Turkish delight and the sweet made out of rolled pastry heavily dunked in sugar syrup....
We got stuck in traffic (accident on the Eastern Fwy), I called to say we were going to be late and the lady that I spoke to was so nice and reassuring! We arrived an hour late and it wasn't an issue. Our waiter was so friendly and helpful answering all of our questions including the ones from our 6 year old. We got the Sheik's Banquet which was a good selection of things to try from the menu. The lamb shish kebabs were a little chewy, but that was the only thing that wasn't quite right. Everything else was delicious! My daughter was completely mesmerised by the belly dancer! It is quite noisy inside, but the place was packed - every table was full! I left very full and happy with our experi...
We're fond of Middle Eastern food and were thoroughly delighted by this restaurant. The exotic experience begins with the wooden door carved in Arabic designs and surrounded by colourful geometric tiles. The interior décor is similarly attractive and inviting. Our service was friendly and efficient and we considered the $8 per bottle corkage reasonable. We enjoyed shared entrees and filling and flavoursome mains. One of us found the Kibbee a little firm and dry but that is probably exactly as it should be - just not to his taste. The barramundi and other dishes were excellent. We'd certainly recommend this restaurant and look forward to re-visiting when we again visit this part of Melbourne.
This place is great for families - large enough for groups, small enough for fun, interesting decor. We tried a selection of starters: baba ghannouj (smoky perfection, doesn't get much better), lahme bi ajeen (good lamb/herb/spice mix with crispy filo), fatayer (home-style veg pastries, very authentic) and FOTR (lovely mix of mushrooms sautéed in a sweet/spicy sauce). We also had the shish kebab main (skewers of excellent, very tender lamb chunks). This is how a good Lebanese restaurant should be. Service was okay, although a little inattentive at times. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. Recommended.

The only Authentic Lebanese Restaurant in Melbourne! I have been coming to Australia for over 16 years and this is the only Lebanese themed venue that I can recommend.You really feel that you are in One of those Beirut Night places!!! (But not full of only Lebanese clientele ! :) a dream mixture!)Great Food! Friendly Staff and Management, delicious dishes of all types and on weekends, a great show with a belly dancer! Don't hesitate to ask anything from the bartender as he will not let you down for sure!!! Must visit if you are in Melbourne! A melting pot of Australian population!
Eleven of us had dinner at Dunyazad recently which was terribly disappointing. The kibbee balls were like rocks and the tabbouleh was tasteless with pale unripe tomatoes. For mains we had chicken and lamb skewers. The chicken had a sour smell so wasn't consumed. The lamb was tough and not enjoyable. The staff were very friendly and apologetic. Dunyazad needs to take a good look in it's kitchen and should be ashamed to represent the lebanese cuisine. They certainly have no pride in what they serve up.
When I go to Dunyazad, I feel as if I am transported to another country dining on some lovely food and speaking with friendly staff. The owner also comes and has a chat to you to ensure that your experience there is a good one. Best to get the Banquet, you may have to roll out of there afterwards but very much worth it lol. Saturday night has a Belly Dancer so you get a little bit of entertainment whilst you are there. Definitely recommend.
great neighbourhood gem. we had a party of 4 friends and ordered the small banquet. the food was lovely and the portion sizes were spot on for 4 people. loved the lamb cigars . Attentive service and the ambience allowed for conversation at the table. My only disappointment was the dessert : I found the baklava a bit dry compared to others I have experienced. Big Lebenese restaurant. All dishes were nice, but alot of the same. Lamb/chicken kebabs with the same sides were good, but not much variety. One thing i did like was that the meals were a generous size.
