We cycled to Soral and were running late, so missed the 'cafe de fontaine' experience which everyone has told us is so good. However, Chez Mijo next door was open and serving, so we sat in the sun on the veranda. The kids enjoyed watching the world go by, though I discovered later there is a side-area still in the sun and a little more protected from the road. The food was really good - my daughter (much to my surprise) chose the prawns en provencale - it came and was massive - I had planned to share it with my daughter, but got to eat only 4 of as she and my smaller daughter (Who had ordered the chicken nuggets) ate the rest. Depuis que le patron vaudois est parti on aurait pu craindre le pire. Mais afin de conserver le même nom, l'ancien serveur qui a repris a du garder en gros la même carte, même quantité et même prix. J'avoue que si depuis le temps l'ensemble du personnel a changé (depuis le temps de la terrasse avec perroquet), le concept est réussi. Mangeant moins de viande, j'y vais notamment pour les salades et je trouve l'accueil très familial, la cuisine soignée et on en a pour son argent. Dommage pour la terrasse mais à force de construire à Genève....Ca reste une valeur sûr, depuis plus de 15 ans pour moi...
It was only fair to write about this wonderful place, we were there last night to take friends visiting from out of town. This not our first choice for treating our friends to dinner- except the other two options were not open on Mondays.I'm happy to report this lovely place was open and we had a great time. It's a nice village restaurant, unpretentious and with very generous portions, average Swiss restaurant prices.Don't miss the 'Menu Viande' one of the dishes this restaurant is famous for with very tasty and large pieces of beef, something uncommon in Geneva!
We took the "trip advisor" recommendation about this place... and where not sorry at all. Quite funny In a way, since you do not clearly understand how remote this village is, or how small the restaurant is, or how little English they speak... but : how friendly they are, and what a selection of steaks with those heavenly French fries they serve, or how good the steaks come... if you are in the area, and wish to have done on a good piece of meat - this is the place.

Durant un voyage professionnel je me suis arrêté par hasard dans ce restaurant. Excellent rapport qualité prix... Pour CHF 18.- un tartare avec fromage et dessert c'est très très rare dans cette région. De plus, la viande était excellente et le service très bon et sympathique. J'y reviendrai mais plus par hasard cette fois...
bonjour, je suis un fan de ce petit resto ;-) j'y vais pour manger un bon bout de viande ... elle est impeccable sans gras en tout cas pas pour le steak ... sauce morille et chanterelle .. top un peu plus de morille serais un massacre totale ..... allez manger une bonne viande sans soucis . ciao
Very good lunch. The meat is fabulos and the portions are quite large. Nice service. The location has abut a "poor" ambiente,. The toilets for example are outside the building. But still worth a visit for meat lovers.
Great place to go with meat lovers (Very big portions of meat (esp. horse)), friendly and simple atmosphere. But do not go if you wish for something fine and delicate.

The restaurant with the most enormous portions ever. Good quality meat cooked well. A bit on the greasy side. Don't bother with pasta.
