every Thursday is sushi night. this is the bibble we live (which work down the road). be it rain or glamour, snow or an hour long waiting queue when there is edamame sushi on the other side, it is worth it. especially if they love raw fish. first comes her salmon-nigiri with a generous fish-ice ratio. that is extremely important. the salmon is also so fresh, it has a texture that offers only enough strength to satisfy their teeth before it melts, almost like butter, in their mouth. next is the unagi (eel) nigiri, seasoned with a sweet soy paste, one of its must-have specialties. the availability of these specials (unagi nigiri, spicy thunfisch and more) will be...read more

The lunchtime menu is simple, with about eight main choices, some side dishes and a special or two (the evening one is slightly different, and on Thursdays is the much-fted sushi night). A glimpse of the tiny kitchen makes this entirely understandable. As an appetiser we had some kaiso sarada 3: this was a special), a seaweed and cabbage salad with a hot horseradish (I think) dressing. to eat home. To be honest, I was very disappointed after my first visit. read reviews online and see the long line patiently waiting patrons built up very high expectations. vegetarian dishes are usually very bland, which is very disappointing. had much better japaner in many different restaurants in and out japan. After said it is one of the very few (decent) Japanese restaurants in oxford, and the service is great, so I go back to late lunch from time to time.

the only problem is the room. we went to midday and were low on time, so we have the first opportunity when they were able to delete a table for us. two of us shared one table with four others, and it was not really pleasant to eat surrounded by strangers. but it was worth eating. everything was delicious and serving were huge. I will definitely visit again!
