I’ve been having a bad week, I needed cheering up so ordered sushi and Katsu curry. I’ve had edo sushi at cutlery works before and really enjoyed it. So I was excited, this is the first delivery I’ve had since covid19 lockdown started. I placed the order at 6.40pm through just eat. It said 35 mins for collecting 70mins delivery. This would have been perfect timing for us (enough time to put my child to bed and enjoy a nice evening) so we went for the delivery option. Only once the payment had gone through it told me that it would be 8.35pm delivery not 7.50pm like I was expecting. I called the restaurant to see if it was possible to amend the booking and if we could collect at 8pm. They said...
Beautiful sushi here, I had the gluten free spicy tuna roll and boy did my taste buds go for a ride. Amazing combination of flavours and lots of spice (milder alternatives available). Loved that they offered a GF menu with a really good choice of sushi and offered GF sachets of soya sauce which is brilliant. My only concern was that the GF sushi was 1st brought on a plate with sushi containing Gluten (wasn't touching each other) but Floor staff unsure which is which and had to send it back to the kitchen. This does then make me worry about cross contamination so we will see if that happens. I would advise ordering GF things on a separate ticket to avoid it happening with you. I would definat...
Previously, Edo was located in Candlebar in Leeds and offered fantastic high-quality sushi in a classy setting. The sushi was beautifully presented and some of the best I have tried worldwide. We would visit regularly due to the exceptional quality. However, they have now moved to Komune Sheffield, which has a more casual food court atmosphere. The vegetarian options have decreased and the food is no longer served with traditional accompaniments like fresh ginger and wasabi. Instead, it is now presented in a more basic way resembling fast food. While the food is still decent, it is not as exceptional as it used to be and is now more comparable to other fast food sushi outlets.
We drove from Chesterfield to try out Edo Sushi for our takeaway, and we were absolutely blown away by the stunning food they served. Everything was top-notch, from the quality to the taste to the presentation. We were impressed by how fast our order was ready for pickup, arriving two minutes earlier than expected at 5:18. I used to come here often for the lunch special when I was at the office, but of course 2020 put a stop to that. So, we decided to order a takeaway as a payday treat. The katsu curry and sushi were delicious and a perfect treat. Hopefully, in 2021 we can go back to enjoying lunchtime trips there.
Ordered delivery from these guys, been a regular for years now and the quality always been consistently excellent. They used to be open for walk in but due to covid, run it as a delivery and collection service now, but glad to see them still making the best sushi in Sheffield.
