Oddly enough, the food and service were both very good. Our complaint was that there were 6 adults and 4 children and we were charged a £36 service charge, which I felt unjustified. On asking for this to be removed to then give my own tip) the waitress's reaction was anything but customer friendly and definitely spoiled what up to then had been a nice meal out. In my view charging a service charge for over 6 people, should only be for adults.
Perfect setting for Obin. Sitting right on the dock by the water. It was raining on our visit, but the scallops were to die for. Fresh beyond fresh. Lemon cheesecake, oh my.. It's a bit pricey, but you're on vacation enjoy yourself! Family friendly but feels like a place to take your significant other for together time. Hold hands and remember what brought you together. . My booking had not completed. Internet glitch? Therefore, despite several window tables being available, I was told I couldn’t have one!!This is an attitude guaranteed to irritate. Food very good. Delicious local seafood. Quick friendly service. Would definitely recommend! The special starter was a huge Asian scallop that was so succulent, and my main was the fish selection which was so much food! Absolutely delicious hake, sea bass, and lemon sole. So disappointing. Ordered the haddock chowder. Basically it was a bowl of lukewarm cream. Two Tiny pieces of fish lurking at the bottom. Tip to chef, maybe add some potatoes, leeks, carrots and more fish and fish stock. Then you can call it a chowder. Won't be back.
Absolutely lovely seafood restaurant in Oban, we have dined there a number of times in the past 3 years and never been disappointed, the service, atmosphere and quality of the dishes remain constantly good. Lovely atmosphere.
My wife and I had a lovely meal here. The staff were very kind. The views and food were amazing. I had the sea food platter and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you very much
