Wow, what an incredible breakfast! I usually approach breakfast spots with caution, especially when reviewers say you haven't truly had an omelette until you've tried theirs or claim they'd drive hundreds of miles just for breakfast. But I can confidently say that the reviews for Egg'lectic are spot on—if not an understatement! The omelette (Hey Ricky) I had was the best I've ever tasted, nothing else even comes close; second place is miles behind. And the salsa was fantastic too! In my opinion, this is hands down the best breakfast place I’ve ever visited, anywhere. The service was great as well!
Really good place to eat! Went there on a Sunday morning. It wasn?t too crowded, which was nice, and there was no wait. The food was really good as well. I asked for a couple of specific things like extra whipped cream for my waffle, and they broughtme a whole soups cups worth! The sausage patties and eggs were good, and the fruit wasn?t slimey. Christian the server wasprobably the best part of it. He was very attentive, without being annoying, and really seemed like he wanted to make sure wehad everything we needed, and it was to our satisfaction. (He?s the reason for the fifth star).
Portillo 's is one of several food factories at the intersection of W. Ontario and N. Clark in the heart of Chicago. Just across the street from the gigantic 50-year old McDonald 's and Hard Rock Cafe, Portillo 's has a wide range, many seating and fast service. I chose a loaded Jumbo dog and got what I expected. A fast and serviceable meal. They have some cool old ban-era-Memorabilia and an interesting outdoor, but in fake decor. A good tourist destination along the hop-on hop-off bus line.
When my friend and I ordered, we were shocked when the food arrived; it was completely different from what we had ordered. I had the cinnamon roll French toast, which was tiny and burnt, and my friend received a fruit cup that featured stale, old fruit on a plate. The food presentation was downright laughable, and they have the audacity to charge high prices for it. I've attached some pictures of the terrible food! I absolutely love this place! It’s my favorite breakfast spot ever. The prices are very reasonable, the staff is friendly, and the service is always excellent. The food is outstanding; I highly recommend the stuffed French toast, pecan waffle, and chilaquiles, among other amazing dishes. Their coffee is delicious, and they keep it coming—only charging for the first cup, with refills being complimentary. I can’t recommend it enough!
This restaurant is truly a gem! I've visited several times, and both the food and service have consistently impressed me. Their homemade cinnamon rolls are simply amazing—truly the best I’ve ever tasted! The wraps and omelets are fantastic too. You really can’t go wrong here. The cozy country atmosphere, combined with outstanding food at an even better price, makes it a must-visit!
This is a breakfast place. Everything I've eaten here so far was great. The omelets, skill, Bennies, pancakes were all amazing. Waitstaff was helpful and the food came out very quickly from the kitchen (within 5-10 minutes order). Would definitely recommend for everyone in the Schaumberg and surroundings to try it.
