We had been waiting a while to eat at 86 and it didn't meant expectations at all. Clumsy service and mediocre food. We had a table booked for 8:30 and when we arrived we were told we would have to wait 30 minutes for a table, luckily they had space at the bar. When we asked the waitress whether we had ordered enough food, she said what we had ordered wouldn't be enough and encouraged us to order one of the larger meat plates. By the time we had got through all of the food that we had wanted we were more than satisfied, and still waiting on the extra plates we had been told we would need. The food wasn't terrible, but it also doesn't deserve the hype that I've been hearing about it over the l...

Exceptional eating menu on the indie side of town. The potato scallops were such a guilty pleasure, crispy and golden on the outside, fluffy on the inside and paired with a well seasoned hollandaise sauce. The duck buns were criminally small for the delicious flavour. The pumpkin tortellini was moreishly sweet and paired perfectly with the burnt butter and sage sauce. The witlof salad was underwhelming. The beef cheeks were mouthwatering and fell apart with the lightest touch; well accompanied by the mash. Exceptional desserts in the popcorn sundae and the popping candy lemon curd tart; both dishes with hidden wow factors which added to their quality - certainly a great way to end the meal...

Massive fan of this place. Hands down probably one of the best places you'll eat in Canberra. Took my boyfriend here for his birthday. Make sure you make a booking because this place always gets booked out, even on a weekday. The staff are very friendly and the ambiance is warm and inviting. Started off with the fried chicken which was tender and moist. This was followed by the cauliflower salad which was amazing. As a main we shared the lamb wagyu. The dessert was the star of the show : the famous banoffie pie everyone raves about but I understand why. The crumb is sweet with a hint of salt, caramel and fresh bananas and cream / topped with salted pretzels. Yummm!!! Would definitely come... Reserva una mesa ahora

Stunning food, exceptional service.  I couldn't ask for more from my new favourite in Canberra.  Was with a group of 9 that tried the 86 shared menu, and each dish that came out was just mouth watering delicious.  Highlights for me were the pappardelle w parmesan & local black truffle, bag salmon w pickles and the lamb shoulder was just to die for.   The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and the chefs were even receptive to my inquiries on how that lamb shoulder is prepared (without giving too much away) ;-)   Love it and can't wait to go back.

Nice ambience and food but hugely overpriced for serving portions. We were content with our initial orders from the top half of the menu but the waitress made us feel like we had to order more. We ordered the lamb pasta - $35 for four pieces of pasta? You've got to be joking. It left a very bad taste in our mouth and we won't be back.

I've been here twice, once with a group of 6 and another just with my husband. On both occasions, we enjoyed amazing food and efficient friendly service. Highly recommended if you like share plates, lively atmosphere (nice but not poshy) and leave feeling full and satisfied!

Nice food, nice restaurant, but not worth the money. The 'to share' plates aren't enough to actually share and some of the items are very overpriced (e.g. the $9 for a small duck bun). Also, it took FOR-EVER for our food to come out. Reserva una mesa ahora

Went there for dinner last night, food and service was wonderful. I would recommend the pasta dishes, and the black the chicken. For dessert we had the caramel popcorn sundae and Black Forest. The sundae is a 10/10!!
