I’m very picky about my green chili so I reluctantly ordered it for lunch today at El Bravo and was pleasantly surprised. Delicious food and very pleasant staff just wish I lived or worked closer.I would ignore the comments that talk about lacking authenticity as those comments are ignorant like all Mexican regions have the same style food. It's been nearly 40 years since our last visit to El Bravo, and the next generation is truly making the family proud. The food is just as fresh, homemade, and delicious as it was when we first came decades ago. The service was outstanding, and our meals arrived quickly and piping hot! We enjoyed a delightful homemade salsa—definitely no jarred stuff here. The chimi chinis were generously filled with shredded beef and loaded with guacamole, sour cream, cheese, and plenty of other toppings. Our chile relleno was fantastic as well, lacking the overly thick egg batter that you often find at other places. We won’t be waiting another 40 years to come back!
We first visited here in April 2002, and fell in love with the food. Here we are almost 21 years later, visiting Phoenix again, and pleased to see they are still here. It is a small family owned business and you can feel the love they put into their food. There are booths and tables. Hubby enjoyed a Bohemia and Pacifico beer. We enjoyed Mexican Tacos with beans and rice and Huevos Rancheros. Chips and salsa were $1.50, no complaints here. Our server was excellent! The food draws you in and will keep you coming back. Hope we can get back again soon.
I have been coming to this restaurant for over 25 years and the Mexican food is fantastic. Everything is homemade, including the flour tortillas and green and red chili. It reminds me of my mother's cooking. I always recommend this place to my friends and family.

Superb authentic food and kind and friendly staff. This place has been here for years- watch out for the cinnamon crisp cookies- served with your check at the end-they are decadent addictive ?the salsa, enchiladas, Chile rellenos are all delicious!

Go here if you like Tex-Mex food. Nothing authentic at all other than the buñuelos and fried bread. My family spent $65 here and they charge $4 per iced tea and $6 for an American style taco. Very Rachel ray
Delicious food. The chile verde reminded me of the homemade one my family makes. The burrito was so delicious. The food tastes like authentic Mexican food. Michelada was perfect on a hot day.

I like her food. Seems fresh. Tamale was chopped full of meal. My taco was ground beef bowl was thin, but tasted good. Sauces are weak.
We love El Bravo. We have been going there for years and years. Always great service and great authentic Mexican food.
