While the bathroom was clean, it could use some improvements. I believe a restaurant's cleanliness, including its bathroom, is a reflection of its overall quality. The music was loud for such a small space, which only has about eight tables. During our visit, there was a rather vulgar music video playing, but after we requested a change, they kindly obliged.
One thing that stood out negatively was the sign indicating a "4% surcharge for card payments." I find this trend quite tacky. If a business is struggling to afford operational costs, it should reconsider its pricing strategy instead of imposing surcharges on customers. I've been a customer since they've opened. This is my go-to restaurant. The pupusas are amazing, tamales fritos are sweet and delicious, and not to mention their pollo con salsa de champiñones! I literally order this every single time! Desayuno salvadorian is my 9 year old's favorite. I don't need to beg her to finish her plate. I can eat in piece.
This is my favorite restaurant for pupusas! They are always consistently delicious. My top choice is the frijol con queso pupusas. I will definitely keep ordering from here and highly recommend it to any fellow pupusa enthusiasts!
I always find the staff to be friendly when I visit. The food and atmosphere are fantastic. Even though I don’t live in Elizabeth, I enjoy the food so much that I end up going at least once a month.

True authentic Salvadorian food. We stayed in Central Park, NYC, and tried several restaurants. Il Cantone was by far our favorite. Great price, great service, and phenomenal food. 10/10
Great pupusas, not sure about the rest of the menu since I only got pupusas for lunch. But very very good pupusas, will be back to try other menu items.
