If it were possible to leave no stars I would.So me and the wife went there for brunch toady (4/16). Heard a lot of positive reviews and it was our first time to visit. The wait time for a table was fine and order was taken in a timely manner. It all went down after that.I got the chorizo and eggs and the wife a Denver omelet. The food took over 30 minutes to arrive and true to fashion it was cold. They forgot my tortillas and the wife's toast. When I brought it to managements attention they offered to put in the microwave to reheat...really!!! The service was pathetic. It was the greatest experience at a restaurant that I've had in a long time. Started with a wonderful greeting from Alfonso as well as a great suggestion from the breakfast menu . The best breakfast burrito that I've had so far. The restaurant was immaculate with an adequate dining room and clean restroom. Quick service with some friendly conversation. I told the young man Alfonso, business must be great if the rest of the menu was as good as the burrito. He confidently confirmed that it is. Take the family and enjoy some good cooking and great service.

Large portions, yummy food! El Cerrito Cafe is a great option for a simple, no frills breakfast/lunch. Out of the things we ordered, we enjoyed the El Cerrito Burrito and Chilaquiles the most. The crispy potatoes in the burrito was a pleasant surprise and the tortilla was thin and not overly bunched up. The chilaquiles was very flavorful- definitely a must get here. We wanted to try the menudo, but unfortunately that is only offered on the weekends. Seems like you can't really go wrong with anything here. We enjoyed the large portions and homey cooking!

Went in at 10:30 am for a take out order of a breakfast burrito. Waited until 11:10 in the front lobby while numerous people came in and were seated. I noticed my order sitting on the counter waiting to be picked up by the staff of which they ignored it for another 10 minutes. I got up and left without a single word from the staff and NO ORDER! Will not be coming back to this unorganized untrained staff restaurant!!!

El Cerrito is a great place for breakfast. The place is likely a favorite for locals. It's a half hour commute for me, I've been several times and the meal is always delicious. I do wish though that they would update their booths as the seats are rather worn and can be uncomfortable. Service is always friendly.Food: 5/5

This restaurant is an institution in El Cerrito. The staff is down to earth, courteous, and provide great service. Prices are reasonable. The chilaquiles are delicious, you won’t regret the choice. My only gripe is exiting the parking lot, especially on weekends.

First timers here I must say that the food was DELICIOUS!! I got the Cerritos Chilaquiles plate. It was so good my husband ended up taking my plate lol. Prices are very affordable. Customer service was great. Definitely will be coming back.
