WARNING TO FAMILIES: THIS RESTAURANT ALLOWS SMOKING INSIDE. My family (including an almost two year old kid who is prone to contracting Croup), my in-laws, and our friend and her family all came together for dinner at El Chico in Pantego. I’ll start with the positives: food and service were excellent. There were a couple mixups in our orders; but to be fair, we had a fairly large party. Now (sadly) on to the negative: after we’d settled in, placed our orders, and had already received our drinks and appetizers we noticed that suddenly and strongly smelled of cigarette smoke in the restaurant. Fajitas couldn’t have been more chewy if they were microwaved. I threw them away. They only have styrofoam containers now so don’t order the seven layer dip unless you want it oozing out of the container and causing a huge mess. They put a burrito sitting in chili, no way to eat it without a spoon. Defeats the whole purpose of a burrito. If I wanted Enchiladas I’d have ordered them. The Flautas were really good. Queso decent. Seriously though I’m not sure who is in charge but the meat was very poor quality for fajitas. It’s a must to get it right in a TexMex restaurant. Ordered a To Go of asada/cheese enchiladas. The enchiladas consisted of a block of cold hard cheese inside a tortilla that had clearly never been in the oven. The carne asada was a tough overcooked slab of something that a steakknife had trouble cutting into. Would never spend money there again.

Best tex-mex for the price and services in all of Arlington. The shrimp tacos are to die for and the amazing skillet brownie with ice cream and rum sauce is totally worth every penny.

Absolutely LOVE this restaurant! Jesus is a Great Manager and the food is always hot and delicious! Speedy and friendly service too. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.
