Ordered takeout carne asada with large tortilla soup and was hugely disappointed! For starters, the tortilla soup was a Borscht style soup with finely cut veggies and small strands of tortilla, the flavour was ok but definitely not a Mexican tortilla soup! Secondly, the soup bowl it came in was almost half empty! Like seriously?!?! The carne asada was not worth the $28 price tag for what I received. The carne was not seasoned carne asada style, I’m Hispanic so I could tell. It was place on top of salsa verde and onions with red peppers and was flavourless unseasoned carne. We had a large party of 11. We all had preordered our meal before arriving . Our reservations were for 6:30 pm . They did not have a table for us until 7pm. Very loud music and noisy restaurant. Staff was friendly but incompetent. They needed to make substitutions as they ran out of our orders . Some people finished their main and desserts before others even got their main . Food was okay but very bland . If you are looking for a great atmosphere , competent staff and good Mexican food, please skip this restaurant.
We came in with high hopes, and the restaurant was less than half full. We ordered immediately, but our food didn't arrive until 45 minutes later, and hence we had to pack it up. I ordered the Carne Asada. They cooked the meat medium well, whereas Carne Asada is supposed to be well done, even crispy. It was very disappointing. The rice was undercooked as well. It The service was friendly but the wait time was excessive, and the food was not what I was expecting from a Mexican restaurant.
