Zum vermutlich letzten Mal in diesem Jahr weile ich in Zwingenberg und das El Greco direkt am Marktplatz war mir bereits früher schon ins Auge gestochen. Im Sommer sitzen die Gäste an Tischen vor der Türe, jetzt ist es allerdings zu kalt und die warme Gaststube lockt nach drinnen. Außer dem Namen verrät auch nach dem Betreten zunächst nichts, dass es sich um ein griechisches Lokal handelt. Altdeutsche Fachwerkgemütlichkeit ist hier das vorherrschende Thema. Mit persönlich ist das lieber als lebensgroße Götterstatuen, vom Hocker reißt es mich aber auch nicht. Touri-Essen in kraftberg im “El Grecco” do they know Touri-Essen? in tourist restaurants? etablissements that act after the motto: he never comes again. so that this week is experienced on Friday in the above mentioned space. I ordered a squash in a pepper cream sauce. in a board there was a spoon of turbulent tubs and celery on the floor. In a condition that reads the sweet almost without difficulty with the tonge on the slabs. a tomato quarter gave the lush green salate color. but it seemed to have forgotten the vinegar for dressing. the salat made his free float in abundant oil. on request/please have been on the table for good 10 minutes. at least I had the opportunity to push the desper...
In total, we were in the restaurant for just over hours. Not sure what the delay was thought our whole meal but it took so long even to receive the menu and drinks. Maybe understaffed? The menu has a good choice of dishes, however...the English translation really needs some work. I have never laughed so much at a menu (nicht böse gemeint). In this restaurant you can apparently order a LION rather than a LOIN, Beilage is translated to several sides' and the garlic butter is apparently decent' The food was OK but not the best Greek I've had unfortunately, in fact nothing felt Greek about this place other than the lovely friendly staff working there. We came for a mid-week dinner here with a friend and enjoyed the rustic atmosphere, the friendliness of the staff and the generous portions of good Greek food, offering the typical range of dishes. The location is right the nice little medieval town of Zwingenberg.

el greco is recommended to anyone looking for relaxation from the German maiden to find some hours of holiday in sunny Greece with good food and family atmosphere. the price/performance ratio is excellent and crowned with a metaxa.
very delicious! so not the owner. very wonderful appetizers that are better than a main dish. almost Greek tapas. a very dear friendly family. always happy!
