We stayed in Sant Pol De Mar and went to Calella for dinner just to try something different. We googled and found this restaurant and what a nice surprise! The main restaurant is very traditional Spanish in style and decor but on the other side of the street, they a very nice garden. We started with Carpacio of shrimps from Blanes. It needed a little bit of lemon but except for that, it was tasty and well-presented. For the main course, we had Entrecote. It was grilled to perfection and very juicy. Unfortunately, the serving was much, so we were not able to finish it all. The service was very nice, gluten-free adaptation was not a problem and we would be happy to go back.
If you really appreciate real Spanish food, wine and service, DO NOT MISS this restaurant whilst in Calella! We went there for a birthday lunch and absolutely enjoyed everything we ate from the carta, which included beautiful jamón, which melted in your mouth, solomillo con uvas, and monkfish. The service is excellent and you definitely get what you pay for. We would recommend this restaurant to foodies like us! The menu of the day is exceptional value for €12.50. We tried it the following day and was amazed at the four courses of quality food. Thank you to all the staff at El Hogar Gallego. We will definitely revisit you next time we’re in Calella!
Absolutely amazing experience pricey but you absolutely get your money's worth. The seafood was incredible and fresh, I recommend the seafood platter for a bit of everything. My partner ordered a steak, which was easily one of the best steaks we've had. Best thing on the menu was the sea urchin, great flavour. Service left nothing to be desired, our server Andres was very attentive, pleasant and knew it all about the food/region etc.
We came here based on Michelin and TripAdvisor recommendations and left full and satisfied. Easy parking just across the restaurant in its own parking. The lunch has four courses and plenty of options to choose from. Drinks are not included but for 12,5€ it’s a steal. Very high quality ingredients. Highly recommended!
