"Friendly service from a skilful waiter. Fish soup and pate were very good. The main courses were disappointing as they were very rich but without much flavour. Rabbit and pork were the main ingredients. We’d hoped we’d found an authentic restaurant with good food but it didn’t quite live up to the reputation sadly."

This small restaurant is off the beaten track we knew it existed but actually came upon it unexpectedly while wandering from the harbour towards the old town. We decided to give it a try a couple of evenings later and were made very welcome. Dining area is slightly below street level with a high window from the inside but you have to stoop down to look inside from the street. It is a charming space with arched ceilings and creamy stone walls and has effective air conditioning so is comfortable too. The menu offered lots of choice and (importantly for me) side orders included Vegetables making a change from salad or grilled peppers. First visit we ordered a starter each... ...mistake, they were huge! Homemade Pate and Menorcan Sausages were tasty but if we had eaten it all we would not have been able to eat mains. Grilled Sole and Pork Tenderloin in Roquefort Sauce for mains were both nicely cooked and well presented. The vegetable side order was enough to share and comprised chopped carrots, aubergines, courgettes and mushrooms nicely seasoned with rosemary delicious! We stuck with the house red which went well with our selected food. No desserts, too full! Final bill just under 70 euros with tip We returned on our final evening and found the place empty at around 9.15 p.m.. No problem for us although some people seem not to want to enter empty places! The staff were lovely and acknowledged us from our previous visit we commented that we might attract other diners and sure enough people looked inside and came in including a large party of French people. The waiter acknowledged this to us with a nod and a grin. Due to traveling next morning and learning from our first visit we skipped Starters and just had delicious Garlic Bread to nibble on while we waited for mains to be cooked. Chicken Cordon Bleu and Steak in Wine Sauce were our mains this time plus those delicious Vegetables again. All excellent. House red again and the final bill under 60 euros with tip. Your food is cooked to order and portion sizes are generous. Presentation is not overly fancy but it all looks appetising. The fresh fish is shown to you and cooked to order the large French party all had fish and all the food arrived together, looked and smelled amazing and seemed to be eaten with great gusto! We also received a small bottle of fizz in acknowledgement of us attracting more customers a nice touch!

We ate here following our sons recommendation, its on a quiet side alley, so doesnt get the volume of passing foot traffic that the waterside restaurants get down at the marina, but its worth finding. We had mixed paella, €15 each, and house red wine at €10 a bottle, the paella was gorgeous! Full of flavour, just the right amount, lots of seafood, fish, mussells, chicken, beautiful. Great service, efficient and professional, but on a Wednesday night we had the whole place to ourselves which is a shame for the staff. Highly recommended, give it a try!

The restaurant is down a small back street, near to the Cathedral, but worth finding. The staff were very friendly, menu choice was good, not outstanding, but food arrived quickly and was hot. The homemade pate was delicious. Rice or chips were available but chips came as small roast potatoes, Yummy. Wine choice was a bit limited but not expensive. Also restaurant opens before many of the other main restaurants.

Great little restaurant can get a little warm though but well worth a visit. I had the Chicken Kiev and Mrs w had a steak , both meals were cooked perfectly and were thoroughly enjoyed. One dessert with two spoons to finish made for an ideal evening. The staff were attentive and very friendly and all in all a great dining experience well worth another visit.
