"Food was good but the cost and service were lacking. Too high prices because there is no table service and the girl behind the counter truly wished she were somewhere else. Nice clean."

This is definitely not a tourist restaurant, as it is quite far from the main attractions in Santa Fe. But the quality and the prices deserve a visit. The menu is almost completely Mexican, specializing in pick-up items to be consumed right away or carried out. The customers are mostly families and employees from nearby offices and government organizations, and they know what they want. The food is excellent and genuine, and the servings generous. The prices are definitely on the low side, in particular compared to quality. The place itself is quite nice. Recommended: the variety of burritos and in particular the pork and guacamole one, plus the nachos (gigantic) with a nice guacamole.

This place must get good reviews because it's the only place to eat on the outskirts of Santa Fe. We flew into ABQ, had to deal with rent car, tried to see some sights then got on the road toward Taos and were *starving* by the time we pulled in should've waited a bit more to get to SF). It's marginal at best chips have no salt, chicken lacks flavor steak taco was the best tasting item on the menu. And it was really expensive for a counter service restaurant $56 without tip for basically some iteration of beans and rice waters for 4 people). Try to hold out if you're really hungry for a place closer to SF if you're going north.

Don't miss any El Parasol location, but if you want to sit down in Santa Fe, you have to go to the on on Dinosaur Trail. We had Chicken Tacos and Green Chili Stew. Both were superb. Okay, it is not a tourist trap and honestly, we live in Santa Fe and thus miss that categorization. This is honest New Mexico food with honest fair prices. Exploring the full menu is next on our list, if we could ever stop eating the tacos.

Working for the week nearby, so this was the only place to lunch without driving. Very good- pretty much everything I tried, and decent value. Very throw-away approach, but it is a fast food-like place.
