Only stopped for drinks and tapas. This bar restaurant is very small but central in Jaen, almost opposite to Panaceite another locally popular restaurant and has partial Cathedral views. This restaurant has a number of outdoor tables but very limited inside room, It is also...very small and unassuming. Having read other reviewer comments, we popped in intending to have an evening meal, this restaurant looks rather underwhelming at first glance. The first tapas served to us were boiled prawns with a crab stick side. Also the drinks are quite inexpensive. This is an ideal restaurant if you would like simply to enjoy good sea food, beer or wine inexpensively and quickly. It is like a British fish and chips shop with tables-and a more varied menu rather than a restaurant where you may wish to linger an evening away. Having considered initially to have dinner in this restaurant, we changed our minds after drinks and sampling the tapas. On he day we attended, it lacked the atmosphere or buzz, so much so that we decided to walk across to another restaurant nearby for our main meal.

I walked away from this little place on the way to visit the cathedrale and suddenly felt like seafood. the cathedrale just closed for the lunchtime when I arrived, so I turned around and went back to el pato rojo. I knew exactly what. I wanted: the small skallops (samburiñas) and oysters (from galicien.) I had two ice-cold beer together with these delicacies that both came with a beautiful tapa (first longostinos, then roasted fish with padronenpfeffern.) it was a nice, sunny day and I enjoyed my place on the way. my server was very friendly and attentive. if they just want to prepare fresh seafood, they try.

We ordered food to go and when we got home and opened our containers we realized the entire order was incorrect.
