Had a wonderful dinner. The place is nice and dark and atmospheric with palm branches hanging from the chandeliers and covering the whole ceiling. Makes you feel like in a forest. The oysters were big, fresh and delicious. We also had a tartar steak which was succulent and not overly spicy. If you would decide to visit only for the desserts, you wouldn’t be making a mistake because the tarte tatin and the arabic cake were just out of this world good. We also enjoyed a couple of cocktails later in the bar and found them to be exceptional. A big thanks goes to the excellent service we encountered. Aunque el ambiente y la comida eran deliciosos, nos decepcionó el servicio en un restaurante de tan alto calibre. El personal de vigilancia fue descuidado durante la primera mitad de nuestra experiencia. Esperamos mucho tiempo para recibir los menús, hacer el pedido y recibir las bebidas. Luego, me quitaron la bebida cuando estaba a la mitad. Primero se le pregunta al cliente. Después de la reprimenda, las cosas fueron más fluídas. Puedo recomendar las ostras, las vieiras y el filet mignon con puré de patatas. El tartar de atún fue decepcionante porque era más parecido a un poke de atún: grueso, si es así como te gusta.
Lovely place with great music and atmosphere. Exceptionally clean and well decorated, the ambiance is just stellar. Great food and even better cocktails. Seriously, their cocktails are the best. And you get to see them making them, it's truly a great experience. They pay lots of attention to allergies and intolerances, as they ask for you to let them know if you have any when booking. Every time I am in Alicante El Portal is one of my stops.
EL PORTAL tiene una fabulosa atmósfera Art Deco, con una hermosa iluminación y decoración. El menú era MUY difícil de entender debido a la barrera del idioma. Sin embargo, hay una selección increíble, principalmente de pescado. Personalmente, NO lo consideraría un restaurante de tapas. ¡Los precios eran MUY ALTOS! The steak is cooked to perfection and the jamón is some of the best I've ever had. They also have an impressive selection of wines and their cocktail menu is inventive and delicious. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is top-notch. Highly recommend for a special occasion or a night out with friends. Don't miss out on this hidden gem!
Beautiful intimate setting, with great cocktails (especially the Hugo Spritz and the Royal Hibiscus). However, the food is definitely not up to its price. We paid 36€ for 4 tiny shrimps. The rest was good (artichoke croquetas) but the overall price is way to expensive especially for Alicante. I’d recommend to go but only for cocktails.
Parece el epicentro del lado elegante de Alicante. Platos de mariscos gourmet. Un servicio de los más altos estándares. Mucha conversación, pero muy amigable, todo orquestado por el mejor DJ que estaba pinchando algo de Afro House/Organic House. Perfecto. Aún no he revisado mi cuenta, pero sé que valió la pena.
