El Rancho Grande

Encontré a El Rancho en línea y estoy muy feliz de que lo hice. Me detuve por un almuerzo tardío a las 2 pm un sábado por la tarde, por lo que el restaurante no estaba demasiado ocupado. Comencé con su casa Margarita (llanura, no saborizada), que era excelente y con la cantidad correcta de tequila. Sus fichas y salsa son caseras y la salsa tiene un rico sabor ahumado profundo, con solo un toque de calor. El pequeño guacamole también era fresco y cremoso. Pedí la entrada de pollo mole ($ 12), que se servía con arroz amarillo, frijoles refritos y tortillas. La salsa de mole era compleja y una de las mejores que he tenido. Sin embargo, lo habría preferido un poco menos dulce, sin embargo. En medio de mi comida, Chef María me dijo Hola, preguntó cómo era todo, excelente, respondí, y luego vertió rápidamente un disparo gratuito de tequila para los dos sentados en el bar, así como por sí misma. ¡Qué hermoso gesto! I found El Rancho online and I am so happy that I did. I stopped by for a late lunch at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon, so the restaurant was not too busy. I began with their house margarita (plain, not flavored), which was excellent and with just the right amount of tequila. Their chips and salsa are homemade and the salsa has a rich deep smoky flavor, with just a touch of heat. The small guacamole was also fresh and creamy. I ordered the chicken mole entrée ($12), which was served with yellow rice, refried beans and tortillas. The mole sauce was complex and one of the best I have ever had. I would have preferred it just a tad bit less sweet, however. In the middle of my meal, Chef Maria said hello to me, asked how everything was – Excellent, I replied - and then she promptly poured a free shot of tequila for the two of us sitting at the bar, as well as for herself. What a lovely gesture! Service was excellent and friendly. My meal totaled $32 before tip, including two margaritas for $14. I want to come back and try everything else on their menu.

I liked the ambiance here - cozy yet casualMy friend and I were promptly seated as we got there at 6 for an early dinner.
