I hate this place. But I still find myself coming back for more. The Frita is the Cuban version of the American Hamburger with a slight twist. It is essentially ground beef with spices and Pimenton Espanol, which is Spanish Paprika. They let the beef marinade in this mixture overnight. The frita is pan fried and serves with raw onions and shoestring fries in a Cuban Roll. The only condiment that you can add to this is yellow mustard, I mean, you can add ketchup but this would totally change the character of the frita. Try it and you will be surprised and don't order just one, order two. Enjoy.

I tried fritas at three different restaurants on my last trip to Miami and El Rey 's were the best! Everything about the experience screamed authenticity sitting at the counter, watching the cook fry up the burgers, grab a handful of potatoes and drop them on top, All on great Cuban bread. The taste was incredible, especially washed down with a banana shake. I had a regular frita and one topped with a fried egg and both were awesome. Order at least two, probably three if you want to be full. Highly recommended.

Went there yesterday for lunch. Had a frita and a Materva which is a Cuban soda. The frita was tasty. I think I paid like $4.50 for it plus the price of the soda. I had the original frita which comes with string fries inside the sandwich. They can add cheese and other toppings to it but that’s not the original way. Who needs more stuff on a frita? Try the original! This is a small place but well vented, it was quick, I was in and out in like 25 minutes or less. If your visiting Miami you must try a frita!

Wonderfully crafted frita, the Cuban answer to the traditional hamburger. Served with extra thin shoestring fries and chopped white onion, versions range from addition of several cheeses, fried egg, fried sweet plantains and bacon and Swiss cheese. Rather extensive menu for sandwiches to grab a quick, delicious bite, special dishes for full fledge lunch or dinner, homemade desserts, milk shakes and natural juices and beverages.
